" I could describe a heavy penance of exercise to help you sweat out some sin. Perhaps a few sit ups. But that would only build muscle fiber; moral fiber requires a different type of training. Fortunately, there are hundred of spiritual exercises to choose from. Some faith- specific, others not. The ones I highlight here, though simple to practice, are not easy to perfect." (Rev. Church, 2005)
According to an article Get Your Soul in Shape a clergy pointed out some soul fitness such as:
- Keep the faith. A new study from Purdue University in Indiana shows that people who practice their religion regularly develop only half as many medical problems as non-observers. Researchers believe that religion keeps stress level down and a sense of well-being up by adding meaning and perspective along with valuable social networks to people lives. Keep the faith and keep your health.
- Breathe right. Just breathe, nothing more. So take a deep, cleansing breathe and then another. You will quickly discover that the breathe of life reveals the secret to relaxation.
- Lighten up. Why are a lot of people unhappy? How does one find a real happiness? Even the most successful find it hard to be completely and genuinely happy. It's a pity that most of you are not even aware of how little it takes to be truly happy. The simplest way is to lighten up. Angels can fly because they take themselves lightly, says a famous poet.

- Prayer for a miracle. Pray for health, if you are healthy. Then pray for smell, touch, hearing and taste; whichever senses you are blessed with. Anyone who is ailing will remind you that a blessing health is and it is one way to attain soul fitness.
- Do not undermine your worth. Do not undermine your worth by comparing yourself with others. It is because you are different from each other; you are unique.
- Leaves worries behind. Before entering your house at night, walk over a tree and close your eyes for a moment, The beauty of life is being able to live life without worry. Rather than bringing your worries inside, leave worries on your worry tree. A renowned author cited that when you pause in the morning to collect your worries, most are gone.
- Have dreams. Do you have dreams? Of course, you do! Everyone does. Its to imagine the amazing things you might achieve someday. Do not set goals by what other people deem important. Only you and God above all know what is best for you. According to a clergy, "To be without dreams is to be without hope; to be without hope is to be without purpose. Do not dismiss your dreams, so dare to hope, dare to dream, dare to have a purpose."
- Save your tears. According to a researcher, the ancient Hebrews kept tears on a little porcelain cups in which they save tears. Save your tears. Try blessing your tears as they fall. When others grieve, recognize your own tears in their eyes. When you save your tears they do anyone a world of good.
- Do not give up. You will always have something to give. Nothing is really over until the moment you stop trying.
- Forget the past. Do not live you life in the past. Unwrap the present, That is, focus on being happy right now because the past is over. Nostalgia dwells on loss, and expectation is often nothing more than premeditated resentment. Do not live your life in the past or future. Live your life one day at a time and you will live all the days in your life says a psychologist.
