Most people set goals in their lives and work for the attainment of these goals at all cost that they forget to relax. According to psychologist do not wallow over yesterday's mistakes nor be too anxious about tomorrow's events. What is important is to live your life today and have a good laugh.
According to a medical doctor in his book Your Behavior is Showing, explains the meaning of laughter. He describe laughter as it simultaneously exercises the physical and nervous system. Strong laughter prompts complete action of the diaphragm, when this happen, the oxygen level is increased in the blood and the entire cardiovascular system is stimulated. Say, you see funny images.
The ability to laugh is a God-given trait. Not surprisingly, then creature is full of humorous things. There is humor all around us, waiting to be observed and appreciated. People do not laugh at the same things. What is funny often depends on one's:
- Culture
- Personality
- Background
- Mood
- Other factors
Virtually everyone will respond with laughter to something: a funny story, pleasant surprise, picture jokes, funny images and a joke pictures.
What is humor?
- Relating to others. It is a means of relating to others
- Humor can be used as a barometer of marital compatibility. A study of humor found that couples who agree on what's funny are more prone to like, love and want to marry each other than those whose humor preferences are less alike.
- A survey revealed that people with a sense of humor tend to be more creative and more willing to embrace new ideas.
- Remove tension. Humor may serve to remove tension and pain. Some researchers believe that humor may result from the release of pint-up emotional energy.
Benefits of laughter:
- Laughter health benefits. Humor is healthful. According to researchers laughter serve as therapeutic tool since it empower the immune system. A medical doctor revealed that laughter can mitigate anger. Being angry is bad to your health. Seeing the humor in a situation is one of the most constructive ways of handling anger. It's hard to stay angry when you are laughing.
- Beneficial to the home. According to a wife: "There are times when my husband sees I'm about to get angry and he softens it with some humorous remark or jokes. Before I know it, I am laughing. Then I realize it was not that serious afterall."
- Laughter invites people to look at their behavior from a distance. Finding fault, blaming, screaming or yelling worsen matters. A sense of humor is especially helpful when irritating habits threaten a relationship
Word of caution
- Humor should be used only with due discretion, so as not to harm physically and emotionally
- Never allow humor to a mean-spirited or disrespectful.
- Partners must strive to keep humor within bounds, not using it as a weapon of belittling or criticism.
- According to a great poet: "Like a welcome summer rain, humor may suddenly cleanse and cool the earth, the air, and you."
- Humor can keep you from taking yourself too seriously.
- Humor can help you stay cheerful and relaxed.
- Humor help you cope with adversity. It can improve you health too. So discover it, cultivate and nurture it into your life says a renowned author.
