Spahats Creek Falls is a beautiful scenic waterfall that drops 246 total feet through a slot in Spahats Canyon in southeastern British Columbia, Canada. This beautiful scenic wonder waterfall is in Spahats Creek Provincial Park which is located just south of the entrance to Wells Gray Provincial Park in British Columbia north of Clearwater.

Spahats Canyon like all the canyons in southern British Columbia was formed by continuous flows of volcanic lava over the ages years ago. The canyon was molded into its present shape by flood waters released during the last ice age. Part of the flood waters punched out the slot through which Spahats Creek Falls flows today.

Spahats Creek Falls is quite spectacular as the water pours down out of the carved slot in the basalt wall and into the beautiful canyon below. This is not the tallest or heaviest flow waterfall in British Columbia but it is certainly one of the most beautiful and scenic waterfalls in the Province and in Canada. It is also one of the most easily accessed waterfalls in British Columbia.

Spahats Creek Provincial Park and Spahats Creek Falls can be reached right along Clearwater Valley Road north of the Yellowhead Highway or Highway 5 from Clearwater, British Columbia. Look for the signed turnoff for Spahats Creek Provincial Park on the way to Wells Gray Provincial Park.

The parking area is large as many tour buses stop here. Spahats Creek Falls can be viewed just down a short well maintained trail where there is an observation deck. Hikers can also reach the base of Spahats Creek Falls by taking the Clearwater River Trail.
