According to a famous beautician, find out what is causing the discoloration of your skin.  It might be cause by the following: Exposure to the sun, some medication you are taking, allergy to a new cosmetics or skin care product you're using.  There can be a number of causes, but if you're observant enough, you can pinpoint the cause without the aid of a doctor.

Take steps to avoid whatever is causing your problem.  Stay away from the sun.  Avoid cheap cosmetics and skin preparations especially those that elicit even the mildest reaction from your skin, try not to touch or tamper your skin except when necessary.

What to do about it?  First, stay away from the sun as much as you can. Avoid going out unprotected in the sunlight.  Wear a hat, use an umbrella, and protective clothing that cover and shield skin from direct rays of the sun.  When the sun is at its most intense, wear a sunblock of not less than SPF15 and not more than SPF 25 says a dermatologist.
