What causes pimple

"Pimples, filled with oil and sebum, tend to stretch pores in the deepest layers of the skin.  Weeks sometimes even days after the pimple has disappeared, the enlarged pore can fill up with oil and sebum again, creating another blemish in the same place. To stop this cycle, dermatologists urge a consistent acne acid-based acne wash which helps pores to drain", says a renowned author.

According to dermatologist, there is no complete cure for acne but time.  Acne is due to the hyperactivity of the sebaceous glands in the skin during puberty.  In a majority of cases, acne is a transitory condition that gradually diminished with the stabilization of hormones in adulthood. Much can be done to keep this conditions under control until adolescence is over.

Skin care tips for women

"Facial scrubs can worsen pimple problems.  No one with acne should use a granular scrub because it spreads infection and aggravates the skin.  If you're going to use a scrub, I recommend choosing a non-granular one made specifically for acne and use it only on affected areas.  Heat is an acne-aggravator, and this includes hot water and sun exposure. A little color on your face from the sun may provide an appearance of healthy looking skin, but the heat irritates the pores.  Scrubbing of the skin is a bad idea", says an aesthetician.

Experts believe that at one time or another everyone has had to battle acne.  Whenever you're a teen or an adult with acne, here's a few technique to get rid of it.

1) Don't touch.  Don't press, pick, rub  your pimples.  If you do, you risk increasing the chances of scarring and spreading the bacteria.  Don't rest your chin on your hands or touch your face constantly.

2) Avoid oily skin product.  Don't use oily products, such as heavy oil-based facial moisturizers, or oily cleansers.  Likewise, protect your skin from cancer and wrinkles without aggravating your acne by choosing an oil-free sunscreen.  However, be diligent about reapplying it often.  Be careful with exfoliate too.  Exfoliating refers to removing the top layer of dead skin cells.  Scrubbing the skin make things worse.

3) Go easy on your face.  If you're too aggressive in you quest for cleanliness, you may end up drying out or irritating the sensitive skin on your face. Take note that washing removes oil from the surface of the skin.

4) Make up to cover.  Put the product on acne-prone areas.  You apply the product that can include your entire face, back and chest.  Avoid the lips and eyes since acne do not grow in there.

5) Make up advice.  Check the label to find out if makeup is water or oil based.  Use water-based makeup- it won't clog pores as much as other types.  Powder blushes and loose powders instead of liquid are much better.  Lipstick and eye makeup are ok, because you don't generally get acne in those areas.

6) Pay attention to food.  Greasy foods, chocolate have not been proven to have any thing at all to do with causing teenage acne.  But in case you notice a correlation between what you have eaten and your face breaking out, You could try avoiding the said food.

7) Watch out for iodine.  Some doctors believe iodine may encourage acne.  Watch out for iodine, which can be found in multiple vitamins and iodized salt too.
