Importance of health

According to a renown author, all the riches in the world, all the success, all the foreign or even local currencies, all the material wealth, all these could never ever equal the importance of good health.  Truly, what does one do with fortune and fame when one is ill and ailing?

What is healthy eating

If  you are what you eat is true, many people would be more or less composed of junk food.  The father of western medicine said, let food be your medicine.  This doesn't necessarily mean that food is the only medicine, but it does emphasize that many foods have healing properties.  Studies show that bananas for instance can help heal ulcers, cranberry juice can cure urinary track infections, mushrooms can inactivate certain viruses, and onions can relieve bronchial congestion.

Although foods have the power to heal, they have also the power to cause harm.  Chocolate, wheat, eggs and milk products, for example are common foods to which many people are allergic.  As the old saying does, "One man's meat is another man's poison".  Finding the foods and combination of foods that are right for you is not always easy.   According to one nutritionist, there are some generally recognized steps to healthy eating that- if you follow, will definitely prove beneficial.  Know these healthy eating guide.

Healthy eating tips

  •  The type of food you eat is more important than what vitamins and supplements you take.  Foods are often have a complement of nutrients in them that make them easier to digest.  For instance oranges not only have vitamin C, they also have bioflavinoids, which help the body absorb vitamin C more efficiently than popping a pill.  Many foods not only contain many common nutrients but also numerous trace elements that are important for health.  According to a medical doctor, boron, chromium, molybdenum, manganese and vanadium are all important in maintaining health and yet they are rarely included in the typical vitamin pill.
  • Eating organic.  Organic foods are not only free from exposure to toxic pesticides but also tend to have greater nutritional value because they grow in soil made more fertile with organic fertilizers.  Organic foods are often more expensive than nonorganic foods; the extra cost for organic foods is worth the peace of mind and health of body that they give.
  • Nutrition awareness.  There is no ideal nutrition program for everyone.  Your nutritional needs can change from season to season and year to year.  How and where you live also influences your nutritional needs.  For example, according to a researcher, people in cold climates need more caloric intake and need to eat more cooked foods than people in warm climates.  Genetics also plays a role in determining your nutritional requirements because the body becomes accustomed to what its ancestors ate.
  • Emotional states.  Beware of the emotional state while eating.  If you are having an argument during a meal, poor digestion is almost inevitable.  If you think, that the food you are eating isn't good for you, your anxiety about it may make it true,  According to a dietitian if you are eating while feeling depressed, expect you digestive organ will not function  well.  This slowed-down digestion that may lead to unwanted weight gain.  It is healthier and wiser to bless the food which helps the proper assimilation of food for soul, mind and body.
