How to Prevent Heart Disease

There are many major killers in the world today such as stroke, heart disease, heart failure, cancer and more. Heart disease seems to be a continuous cause of death and the reason why is because many people choose to react to heart disease during its climax moment. However, you can prevent heart disease from harming you right at the beginning before it starts to develop. This requires you to make a responsible change to your lifestyle which won’t end of the world for you. This lifestyle change requires healthier eating, avoiding harmful tobacco products, exercising and getting regular health screenings.

1) Stop Smoking

Smoking is one of the major causes of heart disease. Tobacco contains many chemicals that could damage the heart and blood vessels. This leads to a narrowing of the arteries which eventually could result in a heart attack. This would occur because carbon monoxide is replaced with most of the oxygen in the bloodstream. This causes the heart to work harder to pump oxygenated blood around the body which leads to higher blood pressure and heart rate. This means that you have to stop smoking altogether to help reduce the risk of heart disease. Passive smoking and chewing tobacco are both as bad as smoking alone. 2) Exercise

Regular exercise is very beneficial to health. Regular exercise with other lifestyle changes can help dramatically reduce the risks of heart disease. For effective results, you will need to perform around 30-60 minutes of exercise throughout the week. If you’re lazy, it doesn’t matter because you can rather break up your exercise into small stages. Small exercises such as walking, jogging, playing sports, gardening and even walking up and down the stairs will benefit. The only thing that matters is how much and for how long you perform these exercises.

3) Dieting

Maintaining a healthy diet regularly can help significantly reduce the risks of heart disease. Diets contain healthier foods such as fruits and vegetable, whole grains, proteins and low-fat dairy products. Combining all these foods could help protect your heart from high cholesterol levels.

The following foods contain a harmful dosage of saturated fat. These foods include:

• Red meat

• Dairy products

• Coconut oil

• Fast food

• Margarines

• Cakes

• Biscuits

Eating as many of these healthier foods could not only prevent heart disease, but reduce risks of cancer. Other foods such as fish and fish oil contain omega-3 fatty acids that could decrease any risks of heart attack, blood pressure and irregular heartbeats.

Overall, apart from healthy dieting, exercising and avoiding smoking, obesity can also be another risk factor for heart disease. Nevertheless, this can be resolved with maintaining a sufficient amount of exercise. Hopefully, once these factors are resolved, you can enjoy living life healthier and longer with your beloved family members and friends.
