Quick Ways to Get Rid of Headaches

Headaches are one of the most common problems faced in the world today with statistics showing around 80% of women and two thirds of men in developed countries suffering from ‘Tension Type Headache’ while Chronic daily headache and Migraine are less common. Try not to visualize anything that may interrupt you and fall asleep if possible. Choose a comfortable body position to avoid further tension to your head.

2) Reflexology

Apply pressure to the fleshy area of one hand using the thumb and index finger of another hand. This can provide immediate temporarily or even permanent relief for some people while it may not do the job for someone else.

3) Heat and Cold

Using heat or cold can help improve headaches. Applying an ice pack on your forehead is an old way to treat headaches and is a treatment that works. Using a heated cloth can also work well by applying it onto the forehead and the back of the neck.

Another alternative to these suggestions is to take a warm steamy bath. Drop in some Epsom salt, a few drops of peppermint oil, lavender or magnesium and lay inside the bathtub for relaxation. 4) Drink Water and Eat Food

Not being hydrated properly can also cause headaches. Make sure you drink enough water throughout the day particularly if the climate turns hot. If you choose to exercise in the gym or play sport, drink at least two or three glasses of water before going to action. Not only hydration, but keeping hungry can also result in severe headaches. Always eat your meals and snacks on time because long periods of hunger can trigger headaches. You need to beware of certain foods that can easily result in dehydration.
