Some Home Organization Tips From Homemakers:
- Keep socks together. Pin your socks with their pair before placing them in your washing machine. This will save you from playing the matching game after doing the laundry.
- Lubricate zipper. One way of lubricating a sticky zipper is to run a bit of wax-based lip balm or soap up and down on the teeth of the zipper. You will find it will zip up with ease.
- Shoe stretch. To stretch new shoes, use rubbing alcohol. Saturate a cotton ball and swab the shoes inside and out, then wear them for ten minutes. The alcohol moistens the fabric, helping it stretch and it evaporates quickly thus preventing water damage.
- Mirror message. Your bathroom mirror can be a handy family message center. Simply use a bar soap as a "pencil" to write your message on it. Washing off the writings keep the mirror perennially clean.
- Jewelry coating. Coat fancy jewelry with clear nail polish to keep them from peeling and tarnishing. It would preserve the shine too.
- Sparkle jewelry. Bring back the sparkle to your jewelry. Harder stones like diamonds, emeralds, rubies and sapphires can be cleaned with a weak solution of ammonia (1 part) and water (10 parts). This plain formula works equally well for a fraction of the cost of commercial jewelry cleaner.
- Tool box. Store often-used tools in an old lunch box. It can be ready at hand in case of emergency.
- Sewing tools. To keep your sewing bits and pieces tidy use empty egg cartons. You can find anything you need at a glance.
- Removing rings from furniture. To remove rings left on carpet or rugs by furniture legs, rub the area with an ice cube. Leave the area to dry. You will find the carpet has miraculously risen. Get rid of white rings on wood furniture too by gently rubbing the spot with dab of wood oil or mayonnaise, wipe off the residue.
- Hanging picture. Wet the fingertip and press it on the wall to mark where you want to hang a picture, It will dry without leaving a trace.
- No scratch. Move furniture without scratching the floor try slipping a towel under each leg.
- Slipping hangers. Stop loose clothing from slipping off hangers by winding a rubber band around each end of the hanger.
- Rubber gloves. If rubber gloves won't come off easily; hold your hands under cold tap water. They should slide right off.
- Keep a phonebook. Keep a phone book in the trunk of your car. It comes in handy if you have a look up an address while you're out.
- Headache ice. Studies show that when you a headache, try putting an ice pack where the pain is centered on your head or under you neck as soon as possible. Running cold water over your head may have a similar effect.

Toothpaste. Stretch the toothpaste by wetting your toothbrush and dip it in salt and brush away. Salt is a good mouth disinfectant and breath freshener, and it's texture makes a good teeth cleanser. - Fabric softener. The last of the fabric softener can do you good. You don't need much to treat one wash load, but it what's left is just not enough, mix with creme rinse for the hair and see what happen.
