The Cases:

A man with the strangest and ugliest of skin problems is admitted to the hospital, an engaged, 27-year-old girl is having problems with her lungs and Derek (Patrick Dempsey)’s sister Amelia, who he is not exactly proud of, comes for a visit and brings a brain tumor patient with her.

The man’s problem won’t go away but it might be taken under control with a series of surgeries. Derek eventually lets her sister – who also happens to be a brain surgeon – in the operation and he finally reconnects with her.

Despite being a virgin, the bride-to-be has swallowed a condom – as she was trying to learn to perform a certain action on a banana. The fact that she was a virgin raises a very fun topic for everyone and all the residents enjoy talking about their first time, except for April (Sarah Dew). Her discomfort leads everyone to think that she is a virgin and they all make fun of her.

The Relationships:

Now that Arizona (Jessica Capshaw) is moving in with Torres (Sara Ramirez), she wants Christina and Owen to find another apartment. Torres is finding it hard to tell Christina to go, especially since she is still freaked about going near surgery and she can’t even stay alone at home at night when Owen is on call.

Teddy (Kim Raver) is upset because Andrew (James Tupper)- the psychiatrist she has been seeing- has to leave town.

Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) is busy trying to help Christina (Sandra Oh) and understand why Derek is so mad at his sister. Christina questions her life’s mission. What if she doesn’t want to be a surgeon anymore? Will Owen (Kevin McKidd) still love her? Or more importantly, will she love herself? Derek is concerned and he wants to help Christina too.

The end:

The cases are resolved and Christina is beginning to think she might not want to be a surgeon anymore. She and Owen also make up their minds about having to move, when they see Arizona and Torres in a more intimate situation than they’d ever want to witness.

Andrew comes to say goodbye to Teddy, and makes a fair point: Teddy just might have a soft spot for men who tend to be unavailable.

April finally gets mad and shuts everyone up by making them confronting their own faults and freakish issues: Alex (Justin Chambers) couldn’t ride the elevator for weeks (because he had been shot in an elevator) until Richard Webber (James Pickens Jr.) helped him get over it, Meredith was afraid of talking about Christina because she may never go back to her old, surgery-obsessed self; Lexie (Chyler Leigh) was an idiot for not realizing Sloan (Eric Dane) was in love with her and so forth. This bold side of April impresses Meredith and encourages Lexie to go talk to Mark. Unfortunately, she sees Mark Sloan and Derek’s sister making out.
