Chittenango Falls is a beautiful scenic waterfall that drops 167 total feet over two main drops along Chittenango Creek in central New York. Chittenango Falls is the centerpiece and main attraction in Chittenango Falls State Park located at 5241 Gorge Road/Highway 13 between the towns of Chittenango and Cazenovia in upstate New York about 15 miles southeast of Syracuse.

The bedrock over which Chittenango Falls drops was formed some 400 million years ago and was sculpted into its present form by glaciers. Chittenango Falls is a thrilling waterfall as the water continuously drops over ledges as it makes its way down this beautiful scenic wonder in New York.

The park offers visitors a number of different ways to view the falls. There is a bridge over Chittenango Creek just below below the falls that offers spectacular views. Visitors can also hike down into the gorge along a maintained trail for close-up views. There are also viewing areas at the top of Chittenango Falls on both sides of the waterfall.

In addition to the waterfall visitors to Chittenango Falls State Park can also go fishing, hike the many trails including nature trails in the park, picnic at outside tables or in the park's pavilions and there is a playground for kids. Almost 100,000 people visit the park yearly.

Chittenango Falls State Park is somewhat famous in scientific circles as it is home to the rare and endangered Novisuccinea chittenangoensis or the Chittenango Ovate Amber Snail. But most people come to the park to see the beautiful scenic natural wonder that is Chittenango Falls.
