Bridal Veil Falls is a beautiful 365 foot high scenic waterfall located in the Rocky Mountains in southwestern Colorado just east of the ski resort town of Telluride. Bridal Veil Falls is spectacular as it tumbles in two prongs right over a huge granite cliff. After plunging over the cliff the water forms the headwaters of the San Miguel River.

Adding to the beauty of the scene is a privately owned house and hydroelectric power plant perched near the edge of the cliff just behind Bridal Veil Falls. The house and power plant date back to 1907 and have been restored in recent times and the hydroelectricity from the water at Bridal Veil Falls supplies 25% of the ski resort town of Telluride's energy needs.

Visitors can reach Bridal Veil Falls by taking Colorado Ave/636 Road east out of Telluride past Lone Tree Cemetery and continuing on to the falls which are right along the road. Colorado Ave gets rough outside of town and visitors are advised to park their cars along the road and hike up the road to the falls if the road looks to rough for their vehicle.

There are a number of hiking and off road trails which takes hikers and mountain bikers to the top of Bridal Veil Falls and beyond if so desired. In winter ice climbing up the frozen Bridal Veil Falls used to be popular activity but is strictly regulated today. Avalanches in the area are not uncommon and even though they try to control the avalanches with shelling visiting Bridal Veil Falls in winter can be precarious.
