Basic Home Tool Box Great Gift for Wedding Shower or Housewarming

Everyone should keep a basic tool box in the house for everyday projects. This would make an excellent wedding present or housewarming present. You could have a tool party wedding shower for soon to be newlyweds. You can register the list at your local home improvement store. Take this list with you to the hardware store and buy several items or one item. Wrap the presents in five gallon buckets, wastebaskets or storage bins to follow the theme.

Tool Box - Get a nice sturdy two or three level tool box with removable trays and containers

Hammer - light weight 20 oz. straight claw is a nice all purpose hammer

Rubber Mallet - choose a white ones that won’t leave marks. These are great for tapping in wobbly chair joints.

Small Saw - a little hack saw with changeable blades

Wire cutters/stripper - a light weight pair with a stripper function should be fine for home use for wiring stereos and home entertainment components

Pliers - a common slip joint pair is a good start but adding a groove lock and a jaw lock pair would be very versatile

Combination wrench set - these wrenches have one end that is an open head wrench and the other end is a closed box wrench

Allen wrenches - comes in a set and is great for assembling kits, toys and furniture

Flat head screwdrivers - select two or three common sizes

Phillips head screwdrivers - select two or three common sizes

Mini-screwdrivers - they come in a set for more detail work like switch plates and battery plates.

Measuring tape - 25 ft. with an extra wide blade

Small level - useful for hanging shelves and racks

Stud finder - get one with an LED indicator and a tone

Box cutter - get extra replacement blades

Small miter saw - invaluable for making frames, cutting molding and small DIY projects.
