These are the tallest buildings and structures in San Antonio, Texas. All of these buildings and structures are at least 400 feet in height. San Antonio is a big tourist city in the United States drawing over 26 million visitors per year who come to see the River Walk, the Spanish Missions including the Alamo, Seaworld San Antonio, Six Flags Fiesta Texas and the Tower of the Americas which is the tallest structure in the city. All of these tallest buildings and structures in San Antonio are located near the best hotels and restaurants in the city and fittingly two of the tallest buildings are hotels themselves.

1) Tower of the Americas - 622 feet

The Tower of the Americas is a 622 foot high observation tower located at 600 Hemisfair Way in downtown San Antonio, Texas that is the tallest building or structure in the city. Built from 1966 to 1968 the Tower of the Americas was constructed for the 1968 World's Fair held in San Antonio and called HemisFair '68. When finished the Tower of the Americas was the tallest observation tower in the United States until the Stratosphere Tower was built in Las Vegas in 1996.

Today the Tower of the Americas is a huge tourist attraction in San Antonio with its Flags Over Texas indoor and outdoor observation decks, a cool 4D film ride called Skies Over Texas and a revolving Eyes Over Texas restaurant.

2) Marriott Rivercenter - 546 feet

The Marriott Rivercenter is located at 101 Bowie Street and at 546 feet in height is the tallest building in San Antonio, Texas and the tallest hotel in Texas outside of Dallas. The 38 floor Marriott Rivercenter is connected to the Rivercenter Mall and is right across the river from the San Antonio Convention Center along the famous Riverwalk tourist attraction in San Antonio.

The Weston Centre is located at 112 East Pecan Street right along the Riverwalk in downtown San Antonio and at 444 feet is the 2nd tallest building in the city. Since the Marriott Rivercenter is a hotel the 32 story Weston Centre is the tallest office building in San Antonio.

Located at 600 East Market Street the Grand Hyatt San Antonio is the 3rd tallest building and 4th tallest structure in San Antonio, Texas. The Grand Hyatt San Antonio is another beautiful hotel located right along the Riverwalk in this lovely Texas city.

5) Tower Life Building - 404 feet

The Tower Life Building is located at 310 South Saint Mary's Street and at 404 feet in height is the 5th tallest structure in San Antonio, 4th tallest building and 2nd tallest office building. Built from 1927 to 1929 the Tower Life Building is a landmark in the city that was the tallest building in San Antonio for 1929 to 1988.

The Tower Life Building was supposed to be the first of a number of skyscrapers that were to be called the Bowen Island Skyscrapers but due to the Great Depression the other buildings were never built. The building has had numerous names through the years and today is named for its current owner the Tower Life Insurance Company.
