3) Chronic Stress

This type of stress can cause serious health problems if it is not treated. Chronic Stress occurs when something major drastic takes place such as the death of a spouse or broken marriage.

Causes of Stress

The causes of stress can be from a number of reasons. One main reason for chronic stress could result from work overload. Today, people don’t have much time to relax from work or school. Their brain and bodies are constantly at work putting more pressure on what they usually do. On the other hand, family problems rise and cause further tension on a person’s mind.

• Work or school

• Illness

1) Stress Causes Depression

The number one effect of stress is depression. Either way, depression can lead to stress and stress can lead to depression. Neuropeptide Y may be a causing factor for both stress and depression. A study had shown that people who produce less Neuropeptide Y have a more negative emotional response to stress which eventually leads to depression. The test was carried out on 39 adults who suffered from depression and 113 healthy adults.

Researchers have discovered that chronic stress can lead to several health problems. These health problems include:

Heart disease
