The Amazing Healing Properties of Aloe Vera
EducationThe Amazing Healing Properties of Aloe Vera
Aloe is truly one of nature’s most healing plants. Aloe has been used and praised for thousands of years by such great names in history as King Solomon and Alexander the Great. Marco Polo recorded in his travels, the many medicinal uses of the aloe vera plant. The aloe vera plant was also highly regarded in ancient Aztec culture as an herbal medicine.
Do yourself a favor and stock up on all the aloe products you can get your hands on. One of the best uses of aloe is the aloe plant. There is nothing more healing and soothing to a burn that to tear off a small portion of an aloe leaf, squeezing the juice directly on the burn. This remedy works better on burns than anything I have ever tried, bar none. The healing is so thorough that many times, the burn will not even leave a scar.
Aloe also will help you develop smooth and youthful looking skin with regular use. I have noticed a reduction in fine lines on my face and aloe almost completely does away with skin blemishes. Dry skin practically disappears.
There are some medicinal uses for aloe worth noting that you may not have heard of including healing wounds after surgery, insect bites, athlete’s foot, vaginal infections, conjunctivitis, sunburn, shingles, psoriasis, rosacea, eczema and warts. Aloe may be taken internally, but try taking it in pill form since it leaves a bad taste in the mouth. Some people have reported relief from heartburn and arthritis pain by taking aloe in oral form. Aloe seems to have detoxifying properties for the body.
Aloe is thought to stimulate the functions of the immune system in humans and is even showing promise in some cancer patients. Please note that this article is not meant to replace the advice of a qualified physician. The way that aloe is thought to help in fighting cancer is by activating white blood cells, promoting the growth of non-cancerous cells. The National Cancer Institute is recommending increased testing for the aloe vera plant and its value in fighting cancer.
Aloe is available in many forms including plants, sprays, ointments and creams, beverages, drinks and in pill form.
