Boston is a beautiful city along the eastern seaboard and the Charles River with a rich history and a fairly impressive skyline. Since Boston is not a large area city all the tallest buildings in the city are mainly located in the same general area which enhances the skyline. The two tallest buildings in Boston are landmarks in the city and both are popular tourist attractions. These are the tallest buildings in Boston over 600 feet in height.

1) John Hancock Tower or Hancock Place - 790 feet

The John Hancock Tower is located at 200 Clarendon Street and is 60 stories and 790 feet high which makes it the tallest building in Boston, the 50th tallest building in the United States and the 162nd tallest building in the world. The John Hancock Tower is easily recognizable in the city and located close to the first class hotels and restaurants in Boston. The observation deck on top was a very popular tourist attraction in Boston but was closed after 9-11. Hancock Place was built from 1968-1976.
2) Prudential Tower - 749 feet

The Prudential Tower or the The Pru is located at 800 Boylston Street and even though it is 41 feet shorter than the John Hancock building the Prudential Building is the most recognized skyscraper in Boston. At 749 feet and 52 floors the Pru ranks as the 77th tallest building in the United States and is a big tourist attraction in Boston with a huge shopping mall located in the base and the Skywalk observation deck located on the 50th floor. Many of Boston's best hotels and restaurants are located nearby. The Prudential Building was built from 1960-1964.
3) Federal Reserve Bank Building - 614 feet

The Federal Reserve Bank Building in Boston is 614 feet high and located at 600 Atlantic Avenue in Boston's Financial District. Due to its unique design and look the building is sometimes called the Washboard, the Venetian Blind or the Shutter. The Federal Reserve Building in Boston was completed in 1977 and sure looks like someone spent some serious money building it.
4) One Boston Place - 601 feet

One Boston Place is located at 201 Washington Street in the Financial District in Boston.One Boston Place was built in 1970 and contains 41 floors.

5) One International Place - 600 feet

The last building in Boston that is 600 feet or taller is One International Place which is located at 100 Oliver Street in the Financial District in Boston. Built in 1987 One International Place has 46 floors and is located right next to the shorter Two Financial Place which is the 9th tallest building in Boston at 538 feet.
