Buying gifts for women can be tricky. How do you know what a good choice is? Will she love it? Will she hate it? Is there just some basic formula for gift-giving when it comes to women? Sadly, there really isn’t anything that every women absolutely loves without fail, but there are some generic items that most women at least find attractive. It’s important to remember that women run off their emotions and want the intimacy that the right gift can showcase. In most situations it’s more about the thought process behind the gift and the presentation rather than the gift itself.

Here are some basic ideas that many women all around the world would enjoy:

1. Jewelry – Face it, most women like to sparkle. Jewellery is flattering and exciting, and most women love it. When buying a ring, bracelet, necklace, etc., the gift doesn’t necessarily have to be really expensive. If it’s pretty, cute, or fashionable, it’ll usually be just fine. Do try, however, to avoid any type of jewellery that will turn your girlfriend green.

2. Hobby Items – If your girlfriend has a specific hobby that she absolutely loves, it doesn’t hurt to contribute to her passion. Keep in mind, though, that you don’t want to go overboard. Buying her items of the same theme over and over again will eventually bore her and make her feel like you aren’t feeling very inspired to be creative for her.

3. A Day at the Spa – Most women enjoy being pampered. Give her a day in dreamland with a day pass to a nice, clean spa. Make her a romantic dinner afterward and prepare for some serious snuggling.

4. Books/CDs – If your girlfriend loves to read, get her a book or two by her favourite author (or on a subject that you know she would enjoy). If she likes music, buy a CD that she’s been dying to get. Be creative, but also do your best to make sure that you find something that you’re sure she would enjoy.

5. Concert Tickets to HER Favourite Band – If she’s in love with Beyoncé and Beyoncé is coming to town, get her tickets. You can either plug your ears for the evening or encourage her to take a girlfriend in your place.

6. Things She Needs – Everyone has stuff that they want, but sometimes it’s really nice to receive an item that is actually needed. Maybe your girlfriend’s blender died just last week and she’s upset about it because she loves to bake. Buy her a new blender. Pay attention to the subtle hints that women often give about the things they want/need. There really isn’t any easier way to figure out what the perfect gift would be.
