Then you can list some of your interests on your profile. It’s not essential but it would be helpful for you to find members who have similar interests with you.

1. Participate in discussions

Firstly you can post discussions that you want to discuss with other members. Then reply the responses to your discussion from other members. Bear in mind the responses you get would not make money for you but it would give you more chance to reply them and make money.

Secondly you can respond to others discussions. To get paid for your response you must provide a qualified post rather than just a single word or two words answer. If your response is marked as the best response by discussion-starter you would get extra money.

However the payment per post is dubious. Generally it would be between 1-3 American cents.

2. Download pictures

You may download your own pictures under the interests catalogue on Mylot. You can also leave comment on the pictures of your friends on Mylot. You will get paid for those activities but the payment per picture is very small, and between 1-3 American cents. By the way if you include a picture with a discussion or response you will also get a small earning.

3. Make money for search

MyLot has a search engine powered by Yahoo! Search where you can look for web sites as you do with other search engines; you can also look for discussions, news, blog articles, photos or private messages on Mylot website. For doing that you may get paid between 3-5 American cents. Do remember the system will check your activities and will temporally stop you if it finds any suspicious behaviour. So don’t overuse the search engine.

4. Complete task

On Mylot you can complete tasks started by other members and get paid as promised. You can also create your own tasks and let other members complete them for you. Of course in this case you should pay them for it.

5. Get paid to refer

Referring friends is a great way to earn passive income on myLot. Currently you can earn 25% of you referral’s earnings.

The Payment:

Your earnings will be displayed the next day. To get paid you must have a minimum $10 in your account at the end of a month. Then Mylot will pay you to your PayPal account on or around the 15th of the next month.

What I like:

I have been on Mylot for three years and really like it. First, it encourages me to write in English. English is not my mother language I find it difficult to write long English articles. On Mylot I can start with a small post. As Confucius said 'A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step'. I do feel the time I have spent on Mylot was worth it just for the chance to practice my English.

Second, it's a place where I can get useful information about my daily life. When I come across something I don't know I start a discussion on Mylot and I can always get informative answers. I really appreciate it.

Third, It's a space where I can meet people and make friends widely. Over the threee years I have made a lot of friends on Mylot, even have met two of them in person.

The last but not least Mylot does pay me, although the earnings can’t make me rich.

What I dislike:

The webpage design is not user friendly as there are too many ads on the website. The search engine doesn’t work efficiently compared to Google.

Mylot has its discussion and earning guidelines but they are very vague. I’m not very sure how much I can make per discussion or picture. The worse thing is that sometimes you respond a discussion, then later you find the discussion and your post are deleted by Mylot editors due some violation of their rules. How can you know other members’ mistake in advance?

Mylot staff never answer your email no matter how many emails you have sent or what your questions are.

Conclusion:

Mylot is a legitimate, paid to post website. For people who want to make easy money it is not the best option. However if chatting or using discussion forums and message boards are your cup of tea you will enjoy using Mylot and at the same time get an incentive for your input.
