Regular Exercise and Its Benefits to Improve General Health
EducationRegular Exercise and Its Benefits to Improve General Health
Exercise is an important part of good health. By making sure you get plenty of exercise daily, you help your body become strong and healthy. Exercise makes not only the muscles of your skeleton strong but also your heart, which is a muscle, too, your lungs and your bones. The sooner you start getting fit, the easier you will find it and the more likely you are to avoid certain illnesses, especially heart and circulatory disease, as you get older.
Doing regular exercise is enough to improve general health, reduce the risk of heart disease, and increase longevity. Regular exercise, along with a generally healthy lifestyle, is beneficial.
Many other organs and systems of our body are affected by having regular exercises, for example, the heart and lungs. Many people also find that regular exercise enhances their sense of mental well-being along with their general physical health. Even doctors encourage their patients to have regular exercises to stay fit and healthy.
Exercise can have many benefits. Here are some of them:
1. Exercise makes you strong by increasing the size and strength of your muscles. Without it, muscles waste and turn to fat.
2. It keeps your joints supple so they do not stiffen up and cause aches and pains.
3. It makes you breathe deeper and take in more oxygen. Food you eat must be combined with oxygen inside your body before it can give you energy.
4. It strengthens your heart so that it pumps blood more efficiently. This means it can do more work with less effort. Just running for a bus can strain an unfit person’s heart.
5. It improves your speed of reaction, coordination and grace by making your brain and nervous system work more efficiently.
6. It helps to keep you slim by using up calories.
7. It helps you relax and overcome stress, which can cause illness. You feel generally healthier.
What exercise to choose?
Almost any type of exercise is better than none, but for general health and fitness, it is best to do a sport which has many benefits to your body. These include swimming, football, aerobics, energetic, dancing and cycling. Swimming is said to be the best general exercise of all.
Please do bear in mind that if you feel you are not capable to do some exercises, consult your physician or health care provider to learn what kind of exercises are best for you.
