Recofast Plus (Pseudoephedrine/Triprolidine)
Active ingredients- Triprolidine HCI-0.625mg, Pseudoephedrine HCI-15mg, Paracetamol-125mg/5mL
Recofast Plus is a blend of a decongestant and antihistamine. The antihistamine functions by inhibiting the working of histamine, thus helping in decreasing signs which include sneezing and watery eyes. The decongestant supports sinus and nasal clearance, easing nasal clogging and anxiety.
Pharmacokinetics
Triprolidine hydrochloride is a powerful aggressive histamine H1-receptor antagonist with antimuscarinic and placid tranquilizer formulations. On the other hand, Pseudoephedrine, intercedes vasoconstriction through straight stimulus of alpha-adrenergic receptors of the respiration system.
Overdosage
Symptoms: Lethargy, Drowsiness, dizziness, weakness, ataxia, dry skin, intricacy passing urine, tachycardia, high fever, hypertension, irritability, hyperactivity, respiratory depression and seizures.
Treatment: Gastric lavage may be carried out up to 180 minutes after excessive use. Therapy is helpful and suggestive. Dialysis or Acid diuresis may be supportive in pseudoephedrine removal.
Special Precautions
• Avoid administration in case of any allergic reactions to any of its active ingredients. In case of any history of allergic reaction to any of its active ingredients, inform your doctor.
• Acute hepatic injury, restrained to severe renal damage, hyperthyroidism, DM, amplified intraocular pressure, hypertension, prostatic hypertrophy, cardiac ailments, heart disease.
• Avoid concurrent use of other prescribed medicines, over the counter drugs, herbal supplements or dietary supplements with consulting with your doctor.
• Subject should avoid driving or operating heavy machinery after using Recofast Plus, because of it possible side effects which include drowsiness or dizziness.
• Should be used with care during pregnancy and lactations
Recofast side effects
Common side effects
Drowsiness, headache, dry mouth, constipation, vomiting, nausea, stomach ache, weakness and abdominal cramps. Consult a doctor if any of these Recofast side effects become persistent and bothersome.
Severe side effects
Severe allergic reaction (Symptoms include hives, skin rashes, allergy, swelling of the face, throat, lips or tongue, difficulty in breathing and chest congestion), tachycardia, urinary retention, insomnia, and rarely hallucinations. Consult a doctor immediately in case any of these side effects occur.
