How Do You Use Stumble Upon to Get Lots of Traffic?

I was talking with an SEO expert on Facebook, and he was telling me how he had gotten over a million views from Stumble Upon, which I thought was a crazy amount of traffic, compared to what I was getting from the site.

He gave me some tips on how to succeed on Stumble Upon, and I want to share them with you. First, you need to have some good friends on the site, so you can send pages to each other to like.

You need to be aware of the type of content, and the tags that are most popular, for example, art, humor, recipes, and bizzare oddities.

Create a review that has many tags, starting with the most popular topics, and make sure that your content has a widespread appeal, and will interest almost everyone.

Share the page with your friends, and ask them to like it using the dowloaded toolbar, in exchange for you liking their pages.

If you have done everything right, the Stumble Upon engine will start to show your page to hundreds of thousands of people who are randomly surfing through pages that fit their interests, and if they like your page, they will press the like button too.

Some of the most popular pages on Stumble Upon have gotten almost half a million views from the site or more, and there is no reason why you couldn't gain at least a fraction of that amount of traffic.

It's a good idea to form a group of like minded people to follow each other on sites like Digg, Delicious, Yahoo Buzz, Twitter, Facebook, She Told Me, etc, but from everything I can gather, Stumble Upon seems to be one of the easiest places to get lots of traffic, if you know what you are doing.

I'm still a beginner on the site, but you can follow me on Stumble Upon if you wish, and hopefully we can help each other to get lots of traffic. My username is rowanman28, and I will exchange likes with anyone, so long as it is slightly interesting content, and you don't fill up my email with hundreds of pages.

Some have said that traffic from Stumble Upon doesn't turn into clicks on ads, but pages are delivered to people based on their interests, and the more traffic you have, the better you do in a Google search, as traffic is one of the many algorithms that Google takes into account.
