Hotel Review: Millennium Hotel Buffalo in Cheektowaga, New York
EducationHotel Review: Millennium Hotel Buffalo in Cheektowaga, New York
Let’s face it, there’s not much reason to visit Buffalo, New York! Leisure visitors are limited to cross-border shoppers from Canada, sports enthusiasts and seekers of urban ruins.
The Millennium Hotel provides a great home away from home for those taking part in shopping or sports while visiting the Buffalo area. Located at the junction of Interstate 90 and Walden Avenue in Cheektowaga, the Millennium is at the centre of Buffalo’s suburban shopping district.
Canadian shoppers will know the area well. The Millennium is directly adjacent to the Walden Galeria. The Galeria is a clone of any of Toronto’s major malls with basically identical prices. Yet, Canadians flock to this iconic centre of commerce wearing rose coloured glasses. While staying at the Millennium, one need not even drive between the two buildings as the parking lots of the hotel and the mall basically adjoin.
Because of its location on the I-90, The Millennium is within minutes of the Buffalo International Airport and a 10-15 minute drive away from the downtown core and the HSBC Arena. The drive to Rich Stadium, home of the NHL’s Buffalo Bills is not much further away down the interstate. Niagara Falls is within a half hour drive. Summertime thrill seekers can be riding the roller coasters at the Darien Lake theme park within the same amount of time. A free shuttle service is available to guests.
The hotel has a top notch restaurant serving breakfast lunch and dinner. On most reservations, a buffet breakfast is included. For variety, Olive Garden is located directly across Walden Avenue and there are several options within the Walden Galeria.
The Millennium has an expansive leisure area on the main floor of the hotel. The indoor pool is surrounded by tropical plants and trees and is covered by a retractable sunroof. Of course, the typical hotel video game arcade is located nearby.
The rooms in the Millennium are roomy and comfortable. As with most modern hotels, the television is full of fairly entertaining cable networks as well as the usual pay-per-view stations. The entire hotel is wireless internet enabled and is available to all customers at no cost.
Room rates at the Millennium range from $89 to $160 per night. If a visit to the Buffalo is planned, keep an eye on Expedia.com, All-hotels.com or your internet travel site of choice for special deals and packages. Even the hotel’s own website can provide you with a deal if the timing is right.
If you have to go to Buffalo, you might as well go with style, comfort, safety and security. The Millennium provides all of this with a smile. The hotel is the choice of flight crews on overnight stays from the Buffalo International Airport and the choice of disillusioned Canadian shoppers willing to pay more for product they could have got around the corner from their own home!
