Health Care Providers That Give Care for Leave

Californians can depend on a health care provider that can tell them, and their company, they are unable to work and give them care, but not anyone. There is a list of care gives that can care for patients on the family or medical leave guaranteed by the California Family Rights Act (CFRA).

Bosses can not decide to not give a worker permission to take leave when their doctor is on the list. Workers that have a serious health condition need someone they can count on to help them heal and return to work.

Licensed Doctors

Californians can hand pick their doctors. Their regular doctor is a common choice. Any doctor of medicine or doctor of osteopathy who practices medicine or surgery in California is an acceptable choice. Licensed professionals know how to heal an aching back and remove an ulcer.

Special Doctors

Workers with a condition that affects a part of their body can see a doctor that specializes in that part of the body. A construction worker with a strained foot can see a podiatrist. An administrative assistant can visit the dentist while on leave and undergo oral surgery to fix their teeth. When work becomes too much stress, an over busy sales clerk can get counseling and treatment from a clinical psychologist. Eyes that can not focus give a Californian a reason to ask an optometrist at their office to correct their vision so they can see 20/20 clear again. After an X-ray diagnosis that shows a worker has a subluxation, work can not go ahead and a chiropractor can treat the worker's back.

The doctor is a choice a Californian can make as long as they practice by the state rules in the law.

Nurses

Nurses can help a Californian on leave heal from a serious health condition or stay healthy during pregnancy and childbirth. Nurse practitioners and nurse mid-wives are both right choices.

Christian Science Practitioner

Members of a Christian Science church can see their church's practitioner. The practitioner has to be on the list the First Church of Christ, Scientist keeps in Boston, Massachusetts.

Foreign Doctors

Foreign doctors can be at a Californian's service. They just have to follow their country's laws and heal the Californian.
