As long as our eyes do what they're suppose to, most of us take them for granted. Given how simple regular eye care is, though and how dangerous neglecting it can be. When one eye works better than the other, the brain compensates by ignoring information from the bad one. So even if you think your eyes are fine, have them checked says an eye specialist. The American Optometrical Association recommends that adult have examination every two years, if you have diabetes or hypertension, or if your job demands close, focused work, regular examinations are even more important. Steroids, antidepressants and other medications can also affect vision says an ophthalmologists.

According to eye specialists focusing exercise can strengthen the lens of the eyes. With a small print book or map sit in natural sunlight. Focus first on the print then focus on an object six to nine meters away. When the object has become clear, return vision to the reading material and refocus. Repeat back and forth, focusing twenty times with both eyes, then ten times with each eye individually.
Prevent the aging of the eye with eye rotations. Move eyes all the way to the right, then move them all the way to the left. Move eyes straight up as high as you can see, then down. Rest and then rotate diagonally, left and right, up and down and down to up. Then slowly rotate eyes in circles. These exercises strengthen the muscles that surround the eye.
