So what causes you to snore during the night when you try to rest? There are a few answers we have to look into with a little bit of detail.
Throughout the night, our all muscles are relaxed and this is what tends to narrow the airways which cause the sound of snoring. The throat is also resting while we sleep. However, the throat may be resting but the tissues in the throat are soft which spread when relaxing. This causes the airway to become even narrower and thus giving a better chance for friction and vibration.
2) Colds and flu!
Suffering from a cold causes your throat to build up mucus which can block the respiratory tract. This reduces air from passing through your airway and could cause snoring! You can use essential oils to get rid of colds and flu!

Being overweight causes an extra build-up of tissues in the throat and the neck. This means that once your tissues relax, your airway becomes very narrow and creates louder snoring.
