The Beatles is one of the most overrated yet underrated bands, it is a status that is very confusing. Paul McCartney, is one of the most underrated bass player in the industry, only a few notice his melodic Bass Playing. Ringo Starr is like Paul McCartney (Beatles member), left-handed and underrated. Ringo Starr’s singing skills may not be underrated but his drumming skills are far superb, many drummers aspire to achieve his style of playing the drums. Even a non-drummer can appreciate the technicality of his drumming. Ringo Starr not only plays the drums for the Beatles but acts like percussion and a melodic accompaniment making the most out of the drums.

The first time you hear this Beatles track you expect less of it because of its lyrics and the gimmick before it starts, however when the drums come out of nowhere, you could hear the drums and the backbeat Ringo Starr is providing, truly a Beatles Rocker. The execution of the drums in this track is very technical that even seasoned drummer drumming this will find it difficult.  Ringo Starr played the drums on this track on the live performances of the Beatles with the same style and endeavour. A Day in the Life

 An article of mine dedicated to the track mentioned how “awesome” the track is. Along with an unusual chord progression you can see how Ringo Starr played the drums as a “fill” instrument, many drummers try to achieve this kind of style. The track was left by The Beatles without the drums and Ringo Starr just went on a session alone and recorded the drums. Common people will not notice this but drummers will, and consider it vastly underrated.

 The Beatles stopped touring in the year 1966, the same year they innovated many studio effects. Ringo Starr employed the swinging hi-hat style in the most underrated Beatles track ever: Rain. Rain has good bass and drums which are out of this world, few realise making it very underrated. Few Radio Stations play this Beatle track. Look how Ringo Starr played the drums in this track. The hi-hat technique is still used later in the track; see how the tempo suddenly changed while maintaining a steady beat, keep in mind Ringo Starr is left handed when playing drums. Somehow when Paul McCartney plays good bass, Ringo Starr plays good drums.
