If you've got a device to trade in and a whole lot of other stuff right behind it, we hear you. Sometimes stuff's gotta go. But who actually wants to buy all those random treasures you've got? You'll be surprised at the items these sites — which focus on old device trade-ins — will accept!

Rare products that you can sell on device trade-in sites

Legos

That's right, you don't have to step on them anymore! The kids are too old to play with them and nobody ever picks them up but you anyway. Time to make some bucks! Check out Decluttr, where you can get rid of that old phone and those old legos:

Just gather them up, pack them into plastic bags, weigh them, and then select the right weight on Decluttr for an instant price. Mail them in and get paid the day after they're received. Happy packing!

Vintage musical instruments

You haven't played Grandpa's old sax in years. Get it out for one more tune and let it go. Luckily, there are a few places to do it. eBid is one of them.

When you're ready to sell, just visit their site, select 'Start Selling' at the top (in blue):

Then select your category, and any sub-categories that pop up after that:

Voila — you're ready to enter the info and sell that thang!

Here's one of the beauties they've bought and are currently selling, for example:

If you don't like eBid for some reason, there's plenty to choose from elsewhere.

Reverb is another one.

Just go here to sell when you're ready, and you'll see this:

You'll be asked to describe the instrument and upload a picture, include some links to any additional sites where buyers could listen to or otherwise check out the instrument, give some shipping and pricing info, and create an account. Then you're ready to sell!

Sporting goods

Time to part with the old football cleats or basketball hoop? If you've got it, somebody probably wants it! From bikes to shoes to fishing lures, check out LetGo when you want to sell your old, used sports equipment.

To start on LetGo, look for the category of the item you're looking to sell. Everything from skateboards to matchbox cars, furniture to puzzles, Polaroid cameras to full size trucks are up for grabs over there.

We found a few jigs as examples of the breadth of the products LetGo has for sale, prime for the avid fisherfolk in your household:

And a few more:

There's a bountiful assortment of basketball stuff:

A gaggle of groovy golf gold:

... And be sure to browse around while you're on there. You can sell all sort of random gems! Even those old paperbacks you still haven't read:

China sets

Whether they once belonged to a beloved grandmother or you got them for your wedding, sometimes things just need to be sold. If you've got china sets you don't plan on using, stop over to EBTH for a look around:

Everything But The House, that is. When you've got an old electronic device to trade-in...and about a household worth more stuff to sell with it, try out EBTH. According to Money, they're especially interested in china sets — particularly if you've got any made by Lenox, Ralph Lauren, or Spode.

Here's a few of the china sets on sale there currently, and as you can see they vary significantly:

ENHF will also buy and sell toys & games, décor, and jewelry & watches, among other things.

Here's a close-up of some other rare items currently up for bidding:

Dolls & Stuffed Animals

When the basement is overflowing with boxes of these, or your kid's closet can't possibly hold one more, it may be time to sell Barbie and Paddington. (But make sure you do your research on how much they're worth first!)

If this day has arrived for you, take a peek at Bonanza, where the motto is, "You'll find everything but the ordinary." The site states that over 12,000 sellers rated Bonanza overeBay,Amazon, or Etsy as the site they'd recommend to others.

It's free to get started on Bonanza, there's no listing fee, and you can import items you're currently selling on other sites:

Here's a few of the cuties up for grabs on Bonanza today:

Why not get your stuff up on there and see who might want to snag it?

Gift cards — used, unused, or partially-used

Ever get tired of flipping past all the unused or partially used gift cards in your purse or wallet to get to the cards you actually use? We know the feeling. While they usually come from well-meaning folks who just weren't sure what to get you, they don't always get used before their expiration date. Why not sell them to someone who will use them?

Try BuyBackWorld, where they buy all your old devices — and gift cards to boot!

It's a super easy process to start selling on BuyBackWorld. You just select your gift card from the menu, enter its balance, and receive an instant quote. Follow the prompts to complete the transaction if you accept it, and send in your card with the free shipping label they provide. You'll be paid when they receive and verify your cards:

BuyBackWorld not your style?

Enter Raise, where they really really want your gift cards!

Raise works essentially the same way: list your unwanted gift cards, and sell them for almost all of what they were worth!

Drones

You've flown them around the neighborhood, taken them to the lake, and even entertained the dog with them. Now it's time to pass 'em along. Whenever you're done with your drone, swoop on over to Sellbroke — where you can sell your phone and your drone!

Just select the device type you wish to sell (these were in the 'other' category), and click on it for instructions. For drones, they ask for a contact form to be filled out and they'll reply shortly.

You can also sell all the usual stuff on there as expected:

If you don't have any luck on there (although we think you will), you could also take a glide through Drone Tradr, Flyhum, or Dronesflip, where it's all drones, all day.

Artwork

Whether it's a bonafide Picasso or your 8th grade ceramics project, there's something for every type of art lover out there. That's why Offer Up exists — to match you to that special somebody! Gather up your masterpieces and head over to the site when you're ready to sell.

Here's just a few of the goodies you will find right now on Offer Up, begging for a space on someone's wall:

Whatever you've got surely has a spot among these delights on OfferUp.

Textbooks

Dust off that old Psychology 101 textbook! It's time to get paid. Remember when we talked about Decluttr buying Legos? They didn't stop there — they've added textbooks to their resale options, and it's as easy as selling anything else on the platform. Check it out:

Enter your book's barcode in the search field, or scan it with the Decluttr app to find out your price. Then, just like with the Legos, you can accept or refuse the offer. If you accept it, they'll provide you with a free shipping label and you send the book in. Once received, they'll verify its authenticity and you get paid. Super simple!

If you have trouble selling your books there (which we don't think will occur), you can also try your luck at AbeBooks or Biblio as well, where all sorts of books are purchased (not just textbooks) as well as various types of maps and other items.

Maps

Are you a map hoarder? Seems rare, but I know I've got a few paper maps I keep around just for the sake of showing to people who've never used one! But sadly, like many items of yesteryear, many have become obsolete now — while others are still useful, but have taken to gathering dust unnecessarily.

Luckily, there's an easy solution. Check out Mercari when you've got maps to sell — it's pretty easy to start. First you'll find yourself on the 'sell' page:

You'll fill in the fields as shown, upload a pic of your map, share a little more info on pricing, shipping arrangements, and the item's condition, and voila! Your listing is created! Let's see some of the goodies already up for sale on Mercari:

Keep in mind when preparing to sell that Mercari does retain a 10 percent fee. Not a lot, but it might seem like more on a higher priced map. Good luck!

If you can't find anyone interested on Mercari, give Geographicus a try. All they buy are vintage maps of various types.

Well, we hope this gives you some ideas on where you can sell those phones and devices as well as your other more random unwanted gems. Let us know which sites you used and what you sold. Happy selling!
