Make Perfume with Witch Hazel
After relaxing in a hot bath or even after a shower, there is nothing finer than having an appealing fragrance to splash on that’s not only healthy but is great for all skin types. Below are two amazing ways to make perfume with witch hazel, or more appropriately for the guys, cologne.
To make perfume with witch hazel is simple and the results are incredible. Strong perfumes are losing the appeal the once had because they are chemically-harsh. A cologne or perfume made with witch hazel will have your friends asking you where you purchased this homemade perfume.
Normally body splashes or homemade perfumes contain a little bit of alcohol which preserves the fragrance and it has a mild astringent effect. It can tone up the skin without drying it out. However, not everyone likes the idea of having alcohol in their choice of fragrance and this is where witch hazel comes in.
Make Perfume with Witch Hazel for Women
Choose an appropriate container. Combine one half cup of witch hazel and one cup of distilled water. To this mixture add six to eight drops of essential or fragrance oils. Cover container and shake well for 30 seconds.
Another recipe to make perfume with witch hazel is good for most skin types, but sensitive skin types should refrain from this one because of the lemon. Mix 1 tablespoon witch hazel, 1 teaspoon of lemon fragrance or essential oil, 1 teaspoon cucumber fragrance or essential oil and 1 cup of water. Place this mixture into a pump spray bottle and enjoy.
Make Cologne with Witch Hazel for Men
Who says a man can’t make their own cologne? And this is a scent that not only is totally natural but women will love it.
Add 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar to one half cup of witch hazel. Then add 1 teaspoon of dried sage leaves, 1/2 teaspoon of allspice and 1/4 teaspoon of dried basil. Gently stir in a clean container then store in a cool dark place for two weeks. After 2 weeks strain the spices from liquid and pour into another clean container. Use fragrance as desired.
Another recipe for the guys is to combine 1/2 cup of witch hazel and 2 tablespoons of vodka. Add 2 tablespoons of dried chamomile leaves into this mixture and mix well. Store mixture in a cool dark place for 2 weeks, strain out the chamomile leaves then use as desired.
Feel refreshed and smell great when you make perfume with witch hazel! Homemade perfumes are a healthy-choice and are naturally fun to make!

What a wonderful suggestion about air fresheners... I refuse to purchase those "chemically-laced" products - natural is best!
