Honeylove Shapewear Product Review: An Honest Evaluation of Everything I Wore
ShapewearHoneylove Shapewear Product Review: An Honest Evaluation of Everything I Wore

Change is happening, and even though it’s mostly scary (think climate change and pandemics and that guy who cut me off in traffic and then had the audacity to honk at me), there is good to come out of it too.
I’m talking about the uprising of body positivity in the media. This cultural shift in the way women are viewed in the media has made a major impact on the world, but this isn’t about the whole world. This isn’t even about me. This is about Honeylove and their life changing shapewear.
Honeylove was founded by the Top 40 dance music recording artist Betsie Larkin in 2016. So over the rolling, falling, shapewear that just doesn’t do its job, Larkin set out to create a brand that holds up both on and off the dance floor.
From body suits to tops to underwear to leggings, Honeylove products aren’t just shapewear, they’re sculptwear, too. Their sculptwear is 75% nylon and 25% spandex, made for targeted compression that shapes and releases where you need it.
I was lucky enough to review a couple of the Honeylove products, and let me tell you: they. Do. No. Disappoint.
SuperPower Brief
The first time I visited the Honeylove website, I was kind of taken aback. Seeing models who looked like me (AKA not stick skinny modeling shapewear) was the first signifier that this brand was different. This brand *gets it*. And I don’t want to skinny shame — we all have our insecurities — but I was excited to review products for women made for all shapes and sizes.
The SuperPower Brief uses panels of varying compression to shape where you want shaping and release everywhere else. This sculptwear comes in six shades and eight sizes.
I was gifted the SuperPower Brief in Vamp (AKA black). For my first time wearing it, I paired it with a little black dress and some Gucci tights before starting my day. I did menial housework before picking my roommate up from the airport (after she spent a month at home (!!)) and taking her to her favorite Thai restaurant.
The shapewear molded to me as if it were a second skin. But because it was so form-fitting, restroom breaks took a little longer than usual. Shedding the shapewear proved to be tricky, but that just goes to show how well-crafted it was.
Not once did I have to remind myself to stick my stomach in or stand up straight or fold my jacket over my belly when I walked. The SuperPower Brief did all that for me. It stayed in place all day, and it made me feel sexy wearing it. And at the end of the day, isn’t that what shapewear is all about?
Legging 2.0
With a fabric as smooth as honey, these leggings gave me confidence I didn't know I needed.
The Legging 2.0 is available in Jet Black in sizes XS to 3XL.
The waist of the leggings come up to two inches above my belly button, allowing for smooth lines around my abdomen. The Legging 2.0 includes specially developed absorbent inner gusset and sheer-proof fabric, allowing you to wear them without worrying about panty lines. The built-in shaping panels contour your thighs, tummy, and butt to smooth and conceal.
On either side of the leg are two pockets that go down midway to my thigh, making for the perfect walking, jogging, errand-running legging. In fact, the first day I got these leggings, I went on a walk all the way up to Sunset Boulevard. Those steep hills and harsh inclines were no match for the Legging 2.0. They stayed in place, even when I was keeled over panting when I made it to the top of Sunset.
Equally as important, these leggings made me feel good while I worked out.
Like most women, I’ve suffered from my own body image issues. Wanting to be thinner and taller and blonder and prettier. And even though I haven’t gotten my hair highlighted in three months and this was the first time I had worked out since the holidays began, the leggings made me feel good about myself. Like they were acting as my own dose of dopamine.
The best part about the leggings, however, is the fabric. The first time I put them on, they gave me that freshly-shaved-leg feeling. No razor required. If my friends were the one writing this review, they’d be sure to mention that I haven’t stopped talking about how silky smooth they feel against my skin.
And that’s what makes this brand so unique. This shapewear isn’t uncomfortable. It doesn’t make me feel like I’m actively trying to sculpt or shape. It feels like getting hugged on top of a cloud.
