Ivy Dickens or Charlie is a fictional character on the drama television series Gossip Girl. Her character is played by Kaylee DeFer. She pretends to be a Rhodes by filling in as Carol Rhodes fake daughter, Charlie. She first appears towards the end of season four, and becomes a heavily featured character throughout season 5. This article looks at her hair, beauty and fashion choices.

A brief guide to Ivy Dickens/Charlie Rhodes hair, beauty and fashion choices:

Hair

Ivy/Charlie’s hair is well past her shoulders in length and is typically worn in soft natural styles. She goes from a honey colored blonde to a light Red head as the show progresses. She mostly wears her hair parted in the center and has bangs that extend part way down her face. Even when she wears her hair up, it is typically a little messy and has tendrils of hair that fall down around her face.

Beauty

On a day to day basis Ivy/Charlie wears fairly natural looking makeup that gives her a sweet, girl next door vibe. On special occasions she sometimes wears bold black eyeliner on her upper eye or a slightly brighter lip, but still doesn’t tend to go really over the top.

Fashion

Ivy/Charlie is a character with many different layers. For a long time she is seen as a sweet girl that is new to New York life. However, under the surface she hides many secrets. As her secrets begin to unravel it becomes difficult to ascertain whether her character is truly nice or not. Her fashion choices go through a subtle change reflecting this.

Initially when Ivy/Charlie arrives in town her look is quite casual and helps her look just the part of sweet girl from out of town. See the picture below. She wears lots of soft colors and less structured attire.

Then she begins to try and emulate Sabrina, even literally stealing her clothes. See the picture below.

Over time she develops her own style and it tends to grow more refined and city like, whilst still maintaining a level of girlishness. She wears some really amazing evening gowns and often tends to favor styles with a little glitz. See the image below.

When her character starts landing in hot water, her outfits take on a darker feel. See the picture below, after she has been outed as a fake.
