If you are a fan of lions or tigers you may want to consider ways of bringing them into your life. It’s not really practical to own a lion or a tiger, and they are better off in the wild than in your backyard. However you can introduce tiger or lion energy, symbolism, and art into your daily living if you like. You may also want to help save lions or tigers by adopting one and donating money to charity to help them, or by attempting to help make their natural environment a safer place to be.

It's very sad to find that tigers in the wild face extinction due to mankinds terrible actions. In China their bones are used, and other parts of their body in traditional medicine. Poachers kill them, as-well as poaching their prey so they have little to eat. The worst problem however, is the fact that the human population is growing and expanding to areas where tigers naturally live in the wild. This can result in tigers and humans coming into conflict, and the great beasts being killed.
It's possible to adopt, or sponsor a tiger as a way of trying to save them. Money from charitable donations goes towards creating safe reserves for tigers to roam freely, away from the threat of human interference. It also helps experts to liaise on the behalf of the welfare of tigers with governments, and so make a difference. Lions also face great danger and obstacles to their well being and continuation as a species. It's also possible to adopt or sponsor a lion.
If you look back 12,000 years into the past you'll find that lions were the next most widely spread occupants of the world to mankind. Today they are restricted by man, and climate changes. There used to be nine types of tiger. Now there are only six. Sadly the tiger subspecies from China totals less than 50. The Sumatran tiger is the only remaining island subspecies, and is being bred in a zoo.
Tigers and lions are beautiful creatures deserving of mankinds respect and protection. Humans have already done a great deal of damage to both animal species, but it's time we took responsibility for our actions and stopped letting tigers and lions die out.
