Beautiful Castles in Indiana
The Hoosier State of Indiana has a number of beautiful castles located throughout the state. Most of these Indiana castles are open to the public and a few of them welcome overnight guests as well as hosting weddings, banquets, parties and special occasions.
Some of these castles were built using public funds and an equal number of them were built by private citizens most of whom were quite wealthy. All these castles in Indiana are great places to visit and fun places to spend a day or night.
Fort Wayne Old City Hall Castle
The Fort Wayne Old City Hall is a castle-like building located at 308 East Berry Street in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Built in 1893 the Fort Wayne Old City Hall Castle served as the city hall for the city of Fort Wayne until 1971. Today the castle is a museum known as the Fort Wayne History Center which houses over 23,000 artifacts and is open to the public daily.
Elizabeth Ball Center Castle in Muncie

Located on the grounds of the Minnetrista Cultural Center at 1200 North Minnetrista Parkway in Muncie, Indiana is the Elizabeth Ball Center Castle which was built in 1895 by George Alexander Ball and used to be called Oakhurst.
Meyer's Castle in Dyer, Indiana
Meyer's Castle is located at 1370 Joliet Street in Dyer, Indiana. Built from 1929-1931 by Indiana millionaire Joseph E. Meyer in Jacobethan Revival Architecture style Meyer's Castle today houses a fine dinning Argentine steakhouse called Rodizio's and is also available to be rented out for weddings, parties and special events. Old Jailhouse Castle in Evansville
Located in Evansville, Indiana is a castle-like building that used to be the jail called the Old Jailhouse Castle.
Old Vanderburgh County Courthouse Castle in Evansville
Located right in the heart of Evansville, Indiana is the Old Vanderburgh County Courthouse Castle. Built from 1888 to 1890 the Old Vanderburgh County Courthouse Castle was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1970 and is well worth a visit today.
Highland Lawn Cemetery Castle in Terre Haute
At the entrance to the Highland Lawn Cemetery located at 4420 Wabash Ave or Route 40 is a castle arch complete with two turrets.
Beyer Castle in South Bend

Kokomo City Castle
Located at 221 West Walnut Street in downtown Kokomo, Indiana is the Kokomo City Castle which was built in 1893 and is on the National Regiater of Historic Places.
Unknown Castle in Indianapolis
Not sure of the location or name of this fascinating looking castle located somewhere in the vicinity of Indianapolis, Indiana. Perhaps Peyton Manning lives here.
Santa's Candy Castle in Santa Claus, Indiana
Located at 15499 North State Road 245 in Santa Claus, Indiana about 10 miles south of Interstate 64 from the Ferdinand exit is Santa's Candy Castle. Built in 1935 Santa's Candy Castle was closed for a time but re-opened in 2006 and sells all kinds of candy and is free of charge to enter.
Cary Quad Castle at Purdue University
Located on the campus of Purdue University is the Cary Quad Castle which is a residence hall for students built with castle-like features.
Seiberling Mansion Castle in Kokomo, Indiana
Located at 1200 West Sycamore Street is the Seiberling Mansion Castle which today is the Howard County Historical Scoiety Museum. Seiberling Mansion Castle was built from 1889-1991 by millionaire Monroe Seiberling who was the uncle of Goodyear Tire and Rubber founder Frank Seiberling. Today the Howard County Historical Society periodically opens up the castle mansion for free tours and alos rents out Seiberling Mansion Castle for weddings, parties and special events.
