Active ingredients- Na citrate, Diphenhydramine HCl and Menthol.
Composition/5 mL - Na citrate 28.5 mg, Diphenhydramine HCl 7 mg and menthol 0.55 mg
General information
Amydramine syrup is a combination of Na citrate, Diphenhydramine HCl and Menthol and is from the group of aminoalkyl ethers administered as systemic antihistamines.
Amydramine uses
The medicine is helpful in Relief of cough and easing of nasal as well as bronchial congestion for infants greater than 2 years of age.
Amydramine syrup may also be administered for other ailments not listed above.
Dosage and administration
Amydramine can be administered with our without meal.
Children greater than or equal to 6 years- Recommended dose 20 mL, can be recurring every 3 hours;
Children between 2 to 5 years 2-5 yr- Recommended dose 20 mL, can be recurring every 3 hours with a maximum limit of 20 mL.
Contraindications
- Allergic reaction to antihistamines or any of the active components present in Amydramine syrup.
- Patients with kidney problems or liver disorders.
Special precautions
- The use of the drug can induce drowsiness; avoid operating heavy machines, driving or executing works which requires high level of mental alertness.
- To be used with care and caution during pregnancy & lactation.
Amydramine side effects
General
Dizziness, sedation, tinnitus, in coordination, lassitude, fatigue, diplopia, blurred vision, euphoria, insomnia, nervousness and tremors have been associated to the side effects of Amydramine syrup. Avoid administering the drug in case any of these problems become frequent and troublesome.
In case of any symptoms of hypersensitivity, stop using the drug immediately and seek for immediate medical help.

Drug interactions
Sedatives, hypnotics, tranquilizers, aminoglycosides, antimuscarinics, MAOIs and alcohol.
These drugs can react with the active ingredients present in Amydramine syrup causing the possible decline of the subject's situation. The subject ought to be observed for the potential symptoms of the reactivity. Therapeutic intrusion or an alteration in treatment might be necessary.
Alcohol interacts to unstable levels with a wide quantity of therapeutic agents. Avoid consuming alcohol during therapy period.
