2010's 3 Good Action Movies: Inception, Salt, Knight and Day

This article was originally written before these three movies hit the theaters. Now it is updated after I saw Inception and Knight and Day. Salt is next on my list.

1) Knight and Day- starring Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz

One early reviewer accused this movie of having no plot. Well, technically that’s impossible. You either have a bad or a good plot.

And after seeing Knight and Day, I know that it offers non-stop fun and action. It can be expected to follow in the tradition of good action/comedies with a touch of romance involved. And who doesn’t like Tom Cruise in an action movie?

 Plot Summary - no spoilers:

June (Cameron Diaz) is pleased to see that she will be on the same plane with the handsome stranger (Tom Cruise) she ran into. The problem is, she will soon find out that he is not just a regular guy but a secret agent, supposedly have gone rogue. Moreover he is not willing to have the adventure without her. So she will be involved in chases, killings, shootings, lies and well more action; with some touch of humor and of course romance.

2) Salt starring Angelina Jolie & Liev Schreiber

Angelina Jolie’s on-set pictures have been around for a while but the movie certainly took its time coming to the theaters. Once again Jolie is playing a strong, intelligent and more than fit character that can more than take care of herself. You probably remember her roles in Mr. and Mrs, Smith, Lara Croft Tomb Raider and Lara Croft Tomb Raider The Cradle of Life and Wanted.

When CIA agent Evelyn Salt is accused of being a traitor planning to kill The President, by the very man she is interrogating, she has no choice but to run and try cleaning up her name.

3) Inception- starring Leonardo di Caprio, Ellen Page, Marilon Cotillard and Joseph Gordon-Levitt

Now, Inception will even be harder to describe. It was written and directed by Christopher Nolan. If you have seen Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, The Prestige or Memento, you probably know he has a fondness for depicting the darker side of the human nature. While I failed to enjoy and admire his other works as much as I did Memento, I was more than happy with Inception.

The job description (of Inception lead characters) involves invading dreams. So imagine the complications, ethics and the dark elements. The movie features a stellar cast too: Leonardo DiCaprio, Marion Cotillard, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Ken Watanabe, Ellen Page, Michael Caine and Cillian Murphy.
