Alcoholic and Non-Alcoholic Beverages for the New Year
EducationAlcoholic and Non-Alcoholic Beverages for the New Year
Christmas is over but we still have to look forward to the New Year. For people who are entertaining, finding the right holiday beverage sometimes is not as easy as one would think. Of course there will be your assortment of beer and alcohol from vodka and gin to aperitifs such as creme de menthe and Tia Maria. However, if you want to find some new takes on all drinks this list might be helpful.
Here are a few other suggestions to please your guests and have a good time.
The good thing about this delicious drink is that it can be served straight or as an alcoholic beverage. Just add a little brandy if you want the alcohol. In fact you can do a lot with eggnog including lathering it with cream.
Coffee
You can serve coffee which is good at any time or you can add alcohol such as cognac, brandy, Creme de menthe, or Bailey’s Irish Cream to give it a different taste.
You can make up the alcohol coffees such as Irish coffee and Spanish coffee lathered in whip cream. Irish coffee is usually made with whiskey while Spanish coffee is made with Tia Maria® coffee liqueur, rum, coffee and whipped cream
Hot chocolate
There is nothing like a nice hot chocolate on a cold winter New Years day. There is nothing as romantic as a hot chocolate when you are snuggling up to a warm fire on New Year’s eve. Of course the kids can enjoy the non-alcoholic beverage as well. If you like you can spike yours with all the same things as you can with coffee. Mint is delicious in hot chocolate so the Bailey’s Irish creme and Creme de menthe is exceptionally good.
Of course we have the various assortments of party punches which can be either alcoholic or non alcoholic.
Holiday cocktails
Looking for a non-alcoholic cocktail. Why not try a Grinch, which is as green as the old grouch himself. This cocktail is made with lemons and is quite refreshing.
Angel's delight is a pink creamy drink that looks harmless but watch out it is made with gin. This cocktail serves well with dessert.
This dessert cocktail is as fun to make as it is to drink. Your glass will be rimmed with peppermint or candy canes to give it that festive look. The drink is made with a berry flavored vodka.
This cocktail is a grasshopper with style. The drink is all about chocolate, white creame de cocoa, and lemon. Weird combination for sure but great drink.
This crimson colored drink is a great holiday pleaser made with Grande Marnier, cranberry juice, orange liquor and rosemary.
Enjoy your holidays with your choice of either alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverage delights.
