the pig serves as a useful test of personality traits of the drawer. Then he proceeded that we note where our pigs were drawn in the paper. It is because if the pig is drawn a) towards the top of the paper, it tells that the drawer is positive and optimistic. b) If the pig is drawn towards the middle, it tells that the drawer is realistic. c) Towards the bottom, it tells that the drawer is more of a pessimistic and has a tendency to behave negatively.
My friends and I recently attended a review for the purposes of taking the insurance commission exam. The review was on a night schedule starting from 6pm-9pm and with this schedule you would expect yourself to be sleepy. It was a good thing though that our reviewer had a very lively and talkative personality that we have enjoyed the review despite the fact that it was an evening class.
I would just like to share the icebreaker that we had, it is called the pig test. We had a very good laugh while doing the activity and at the same time knew more about our personality through the said test.
First off, we were asked to draw a pig on a piece of paper and so draw we did. We were having quite a good laugh while drawing since none of us were artists or even good at drawing. For my part, I drew my pig while singing the children's song, little circle, little circle, big circle and so on. So there was my pig.
When all of us were done, the reviewer then said that the pig serves as a useful test of personality traits of the drawer. My drawing was drawn towards the middle of the paper, so it means that I am a realistic person.
Our reviewer then proceeded to the direction the head of the pig that we have drawn were facing, if it was facing left then it means that the drawer believes in tradition, friendly and remembers dates and birthdays. If however the pig is facing right, it means that the drawer is innovative and active, is friendly but then doesn’t have a sense of family and neither does he or she remember dates as well. If the pig is facing front, it tells that the drawer is direct and enjoys playing the devil’s advocate; the drawer also neither fears nor avoids discussions. For my part, my pig is facing front on, so this means that I enjoy playing the devil’s advocate. I was having a good laugh at this one because I think that the pig got my personality right!
We then moved on to the details, our reviewer said that if there are many details in the pig such as a complete face with ears, mouth, feet and tail and other body parts then it means the drawer is analytical, cautious and distrustful as well. If there are not so many details drawn, then it means that the drawer is emotional, doesn’t care much for details and is prone to taking risks. At this point, I cannot decide if my pig is detailed or not, I did put in the basics, like eyes, ears, nose, mouth, ears, the body and other extremities. So I decided that my personality is in the former description, which is being analytical, cautious and distrustful, although I doubt the last adjective.
After we have discussed the details that we have included in our pig, we then proceeded to the number of feet that we have drawn. Accordingly, if the drawer has put in less than four legs in his or her pig, it means that he or she is insecure or is living through a period of major change. However if the drawer has drawn four legs, it means that he or she is secure, stubborn and sticks to his or her ideals. If however for some reason the drawer has drawn more than four legs, it means that- get this, the drawer is stupid! With this, everybody in the review class were busy counting legs, making sure that there were no more than four legs showing, of course, nobody wanted be classified as stupid. All these of course were in the spirit of fun, and indeed there was a classmate who has drawn more than four!
After the legs, next came the size of the pig’s ears. For my part, I have drawn large pointed ears which was a good thing because as per our reviewer the pig’s ears indicates how good you are at listening. Again, I wholeheartedly agree with this observation since I do believe that I am more of a listener than a talker.
Then we came to the last part, the pig’s tail. By this time we were all having a fun time but nothing prepared us for the personality that is indicated by the pig’s tail. As it was, the length of the tail indicates the quality of the individual’s sex life! The longer the tail the better, with this we all burst out laughing and looking at how long we have drawn each of our pig’s tails. Mine was quite a longish one and curled at the tip, so there!
In the end, the training was a very fruitful and entertaining one. The hours were well spent and we all learned something from the said activity especially from the pig.
