Use Baking Soda to Clean Your Bathroom
Got a grungy bathroom? Got a clean one and want to keep it that way? Baking soda to the rescue! Baking soda can clean everything from mirrors and tubs to waste baskets and floors.
Let's start with the bathroom mirror. Mix about a teaspoon of baking soda in a cup of water, then dip a cleaning cloth in that and apply it to the mirror (and window, if there is one). Let the mirror dry while you wring out that cloth and dip it into baking soda and use it to clean the shower. Tile and smooth shower walls will both shine like new after a good once over with a paste of baking soda and water. Rinse well, then dry with a soft cloth to remove all residue. If there seems to be a glaze over the tile when it's dry, wipe again with a clean, dry cloth. This only takes a moment.
Now it's time to wipe down the mirror and window with the same dry, soft cloth. They will sparkle!
Next, put a quarter cup of baking soda down the bathroom sink drain and follow with a half cup of vinegar. Let it set - or erupt - while you sprinkle baking soda around the inside of the stool. Put some in the water, too, and let it set. Return to the sink if it's through bubbling and run hot water down the drain for a minute. This will clean and sweeten the drain. Now you're ready to clean the faucet and sink. Scrub it well with a baking soda and water paste, rinse well and dry with that soft cloth. Now you can scrub the tub with the paste and rinse well, as you did the sink.
Using a brush, scrub the toilet as you usually do. You may not want to use baking soda every time, but when you do, it will clean it to a sparkle and remove odors too.
To get the bathrooom trash basket clean and fresh and to keep it odor free, first wipe it down with water in which you've mixed just a little baking soda, then sprinkle baking soda in the bottom of the container before putting in bag.
Rinse your cloths very well and wipe the bathrooom floor with them. If the floor is grungy or if it has black marks on it, make up a paste again and scrub with this. To clean an overall grungy looking bathroom floor, dissolve a teaspoon of baking soda in a half cup of hot water. Dip a cloth in this and wipe the floor, then when it's dry, use a dry mop or a clean, dry cloth to go over it.
Your bathroom will look clean, smell clean, and be clean!
