Jacksonville, Florida-born Bob Hayes (1942-2002) was an Olympic champion and star wide receiver. A 7th round pick in the 1964 NFL draft out of Florida A&M, Hayes played his 1965-1975 pro football career with the Dallas Cowboys and the San Francisco 49ers, amassing 371 receptions, 7,414 receiving yards, 68 rushing yards and 73 total touchdowns. A two-time gold medallist at the 1964 Tokyo Olympics (100 meters, 4x100 meter relay) and a three-time Pro Bowl selection, "Bullet Bob" Hayes was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2009.
