The most popular sayings about mineral make up is that most people love its light and natural feel and the long lasting glow that it creates for their face, and they feel like they are not wearing a mask or cakes of makeup. Mineral makeup is used mostly by women and men that have sensitive skin and that are prone to acne and rosacea.

Are brand name mineral makeup or other products safe? (Including Sheer Cover)

Well the answer is that mineral or natural make up is not 100% safe, but you may use the products with minimal harmful effects. Now let's discover if the claims of cosmetic industry of being totally safe are legit or not including Sheer Cover mineral  makeup?

Natural means "existing in or formed by nature; having undergone little or no processing and containing no chemical additives." Unfortunately, there are no regulations currently in place regarding the use of the word "natural" in cosmetics, so any companies using any ingredients and manufacturing processes can claim that their products are "natural.'

According to a review ( Sheer Cover Mineral Makeup Review) from 'Natural Living for women':

Ingredients list for Sheer Cover from website:

Mineral Foundations: Active Ingredients: Zinc Oxide (12.00%). Other Ingredients: Boron Nitride, Bisabolol, Aspalathus Linearis Leaf Extract, May Contain (+/-): Bismuth Oxychloride (CI 77163), Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891), Mica, Iron Oxides (CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499)

Boron nitride and bisabolol, these ingredients are listed as low hazard by the Skin Deep Cosmetic Database.  Bismuth oxychloride has been found to be an irritant for some individuals.(may cause rashes, breakouts etc.)

* Dermatologist Francesca Fusco, MD says that despite a few clever slogans that suggest they are so light you can “sleep with the makeup on”, you should wash your face before bedtime.
