One Point Healing - Acupressure Point GB 20

Today we will learn about another acupoint which is GB 20 and an effective way to get relief from tension, headaches etc.
Acupressure point GB 20 is called Gates of Consciousness and Wind Pond. It help harmonize your immune system. It is good for sinus issues, neck pain, dizziness, sore eyes, head cold, stuffy head and irritability. It is one of the acupoints which are used to relieve depression.
Point Location: GB 20 – just under the base of the skull in two small muscular grooves at the back of the neck.
Benefits and uses of Acupoint GB 20:
For pain relief and common complaints such as headaches, including migraines, vision zigzangs, ringing in the ear, insomnia, fibromyalgia, tiredness, stiff neck, neck pain, eyestrain, uptightness, irritability, judgmental attitudes, nervousness, hypertension, and mental stress – or any combination of these symptoms – these two acupressure points underneath the base of the skull are a lifesaver.
These acupressure points (referred to as GB 20) regulate the circulation into the brain, they are called the Gates of the Mind, or Gates of Consciousness. When these Acupressure points are blocked, you may feel uptight, have pressure in your head, short sightedness, and it may be difficult to cope and make wise decisions.
Acupressure points GB 20 relieve pain by releasing the body’s natural pain relievers known as endorphins. By opening the healing energy through these Acupressure points you can relieve stiffness, especially stiff necks, arthritic pains, fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue. There are many acupressure points for these problems, but GB 20 is one of the most potent points for obtaining relief.
How to hold the points and apply pressure?
Press and lift up toward the base of your skull with your thumbs and lean your head back. Use the weight of your head against your thumbs for a steady pressure. Hold for about 5 minutes. Breath deeply and slowly during the acupressure.
