1. Gloucestershire Old Spots
The Gloucestershire Old Spots is a beautiful spotted pig breed that originated in Gloucestershire County where its name was taken. This pig breed is best known for its intelligence and docile nature. A male Gloucestershire Old Spots can attain a weight of 272 kg and female or sow can reach 227 kg. This lovely-looking spotted pig breed is also known by a variety of names such as also Gloucester Old Spot, Gloucestershire Old Spot, Gloucester or simply Old Spots.
2. Oxford Sandy and Black
The Oxford Sandy and Black, which is one of Britain’s oldest native pig, is one of the most beautiful and most popular spotted breed of pigs in the world. This domestic pig originated in Oxfordshire, UK. Its name was derived from its color which is a base of sandy brown with black patches. It is also called the “Plum Pudding” or “Oxford Forest Pig”. This hardy breed is also well known for its docile nature.
Another spotted pig breed is the Pietrain. It is endemic to Wallonia in the municipality of Walloon of Jodoigne. It was one of the most popular breed during the 1950s and were improved in 2004.
4. Bentheim Black Pied
Bentheim Black Pieds are beautifully spotted breed of pig that originated in Bentheim, Germany. This rare breed of domestic pig is the result of crossing Cornwalls and Berkshire. This breed is characterized also by large ears. The male (boar) Bentheim Black Pied can attain a height of 75 cm and can gain a weight of 250 kilograms and the female (sow) can grow up to 70 cm tall and can gain weight of up to 180 kg. This spotted pig is also known as the Schwarz-Wesses or Buntes Bentheimer Schwein.
