The ideal candidate will basically assist the marketing manager with planning and managing marketing events.  A typical day for a marketing coordinator might involve managing newsletters, coordinating various marketing events, participating in press meetings, managing marketing advertisement campaigns, desktop publishing, maintaining sales proposals, create marketing collateral, customer communications, public relations, design sales programs, develop marketing strategies, modify unsuccessful marketing strategies, and implement analysis of customer satisfaction. And some administrative functions might include, managing the company e-mail, updating the company website, making outbound calls, correspondence, maintain database, and customer service.  The marketing coordinator usually reports to the marketing manager, supervisor, or to the director of marketing.

Job Requirements

In order to be successful in this job the candidate must be able to multi-task, have excellent oral and written skills, excellent presentation skills, communication skills, and interpersonal skills, project management skills, innovative thinker, creative, business savvy, and self-motivated. Must be familiar with latest technology and able to apply in various marketing activities to achieve the best results; Proficient with Microsoft office, including word, excel, power point, and outlook. Experience with desktop publishing is a plus.  Must be familiar with marketing concepts and procedures. Must be able to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.  0-2 years experience.

Training and Education

Must have a minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Sales Administration or related field. Sales experience is a plus.  Most companies are willing to provide training for the right individuals.
