How to have a Disney themed princess wedding at the location of your choice.

Disney makes a great theme to build your wedding around. Just about every girl has wanted to be a Disney princess at some time and Disney princesses all find their prince. This is a perfect theme for a wedding.

Disney has a number of princesses to choose from. You can pick Cinderella, Snow White, Belle, Ariel, Sleeping Beauty, Pocahontas, Aurora (Sleeping Beauty), Mulan, Rapunzel,Tiana or Jasmine. Each of these princesses has a special appeal and look. Jasmine leads one to an Arabic themed wedding, Pocahontas leads one to simple outdoor themed wedding, Mulan to a Chinese themed wedding, Tiana to an African themed wedding, Ariel to a beach themed wedding, Belle to a provincial themed wedding, Aurora to more traditional castle themed wedding, Snow White to a forest themed wedding, and Cinderella to a magical theme, and Rapunzel to a tower wedding.

First pick out your princess. This will give you both colors and a theme to plan around. If you pick Belle, plan on a village wedding with lots of yellow and roses. If you pick Mulan, plan on a wedding with traditional Chinese red and gold. If you pick Jasmine, plan a beach theme with sea colors of blue and green. Snow White cries out for huntsman and forest colors while Cinderella needs a magical castle setting in blue. Pocahontas needs earth tones with reds, turquoise and beige. Tiana needs an African themed setting with bright colors and Jasmine needs a Middle Eastern setting with soft pastel colors.

Once you have your princess, you need to settle on your dress and that of your bridesmaids. You can wear a copy of one of the princess's gowns of course, but even better is an original gown that looks like what the princess would have picked out. A formal version of the various movie dresses will work out fine. You don't have to pick white; but if you want white there is no problem mixing in splashes of the princess's favorite colors to accent the dress. Once your dress is picked out, you can have your bridesmaids wear something in the princess's color that complements your own choice. Often in this kind of wedding, the flower girl and boy will wear costumes from the movie to bring the theme together. The dress for the men in the wedding should complement the bride and her level of formality; formal dress for some princesses and less formal for the beach or outdoor wedding.

Your flowers should match your dress and colors and of course they can contain Disney items to make the theme clear, such as miniatures of the princess or crowns. Your bridesmaids or flower children can carry something theme related such as sea shells, feathers, or pine boughs. Your hair can easily be made up to match the princess of your choice and you can wear a tiara and hair clips that match your princess's hair do. For an outdoor wedding, garlands of flowers might be worn instead of a crown or a hair band made out of beach items.

Don't forget to decorate your wedding location to support your theme. Make sure your guests feel like they are sitting in the castle, forest, under the sea, China, Mid East or provincial village. For magic, don't forget to add sparkle of foil and glitter and streamers. You might want to light your wedding with candles since many of these princesses did not use electricity. You can use the same types of decorations to carry your theme forward into the reception.

Being a Disney princess at your wedding will take a bit of extra work, but your gorgeous wedding will be worth it. Even better, your wedding will still be distinctive and bring out your best, including the princess that is in all of us.
