How To Do a Hardflip on a Skateboard
The hardflip is a combination of a frontside pop shove it and a kickflip and as the name suggests the hardflip is a very hard trick to learn! It won’t take long for you to learn how to spin them and land them with your front foot but it usually takes a very long time to be able to land on the board with both feet and ride away.
Step 1: Place your back foot like you would for a kickflip.
Step 2: Place your front foot with your toes in the middle of the board with about half of your foot on at about a 45 degree angle towards the front bolts.
Step 3: Pop and scoop with your back foot like you would for a frontside pop shove it while at the same time flicking strait behind you and also sort of up. Once you learn hardflips you will want to slowly scoop more and more up and out in order to make them flip more and more vertically instead of flicking behind you causing them to flip less vertically and more like a frontside pop shove it.
Step 4: Learn how to spin it and land it with your front foot.
Step 5: Once you have gotten landing hardflips with your front foot on lock, you will then want to start spinning them as you normally would except jumping back and sucking in your back foot also and keep your whole body over the board so that you can land on it and ride away. It will be very hard to learn how to do this but if you keep practicing you’ll eventually get it.
Problem #1: Can’t spin the hardflip in order to land it with one foot.
Problem #2: When I try to land it with both feet spins half a front shove plus one and a half kickflips.
Problem #3: When I try to land it with both feet it spins a front shove but only half a kickflip and I land on the board upside down.
Problem #4: When I try to land it with both feet it spins to full kickflip but only half of a front shove and I usually land on the tail and fall off.
Solution to Problem #1: The only way to solve this problem is to practice and learn how to coordinate the pop, scoop, and flick just right so that you spin a hardflip.
Solution to Problem #2: The way to solve this problem is to flick more behind you and you also scoop harder.
Solution to Problem #3: The only way to solve this problem is to flick out harder.
Solution to Problem #4: The only way to solve this problem is to pop and scoop a lot harder and jump back and forward more.
