How to Crochet a Hat for a Walking Doll
This hat is designed especially for the Little Dreams Walking Doll. She measures approximately thirty inches tall. I purchased my Little Dreams Doll at Walmart, but I see similar dolls for sale on ebay now and then.
Here is a list of the materials that you will need to make this hat:
About one ounce of 100% cotton worsted weight yarn ("dishcloth" yarn)
Size H crochet hook
Tapesty needle (for weaving ends in)
Scissors
Gauge: Two rounds of double crochet equals one inch

Round One: Chain four, join with a slip stitch in the first chain to form a ring, chain three, work eleven double crochets into the ring you just made, join with a slip stitch in the top of the beginning chain three (you now have a total of twelve double crochets in Round One, counting the beginning chain three as one double crochet).
Round Two: Chain three, work one double crochet into the same double crochet as the beginning chain three, work two double crochets in the next double crochet and in each double crochet around, join with a slip stitch in the top of the beginning chain three (you will now have a total of twenty-four double crochets in Round Two, counting the beginning chain three as one double crochet).
Round Three: Chain three, work one double crochet into the same double crochet as the beginning chain three, work two double crochets in the next double crochet and in each double crochet around, join with a slip stitch in the top of the beginning chain three (you will now have a total of forty-eight double crochets in Round Three, counting the beginning chain three as one double crochet).
Round Four: Chain three, work one double crochet in the next double crochet and in each double crochet around, join with a slip stitch in the top of the beginning chain three (you will now have a total of forty-eight double crochets in Round Four, counting the beginning chain three as one double crochet).
Rounds Five Through Nine: Work these rounds the same as for Round Four (with forty-eight double crochets in each round), fasten off after Round Nine and weave ends in securely.
Feel free to sell these doll hats in your etsy stores or elsewhere. Let me know (in the comment box below) if you would like to see more Walking Doll patterns. I will try to dream up more designs for this doll if there is a demand for them.
Enjoy!

I would love to see more things for the 32in dolls. I got them for my granddaughters for christmas and now can't find any clothes for them. Unfortunately I'm not talented enough at my crochet to design just follow.
How adorable! I have always admired people who can knit and crochet. I have a friend who started a charity organization called Stitches for Britches (stitchesforbritches.com) and they knit for charity for an orpanage in ethiopia. It is really sweet you should check it out.
hi it would be good if you can start from the basics 'How to crochet-Beginner's guide'.....i am interested to learn.
That hat's darling. I'm with Irene. I can knit, but I would love to learn to crochet.
