Turn your bed into a flower bed. Crochet a floral granny square blanket!

Here are the materials you will need to make this square:

Small amounts of Red Heart Super Saver worsted weight yarn in hot red and white (or your choice of two colors)

Size H crochet hook

Yarn needle (for weaving ends in)

Scissors

Size: This square measures approximately 3 1/2" square.

Round One: With hot red, chain four, join with a slip stitch in the first chain to form a ring, chain one, work eight single crochets into the ring you just made, join with a slip stitch in the first single crochet (you now have a total of eight single crochets).

Round Two: Chain three, work one double crochet into the same single crochet as beginning chain three, chain three, slip stitch in the same single crochet, * slip stitch in the next single crochet, chain three, work one double crochet into the same single crochet, chain three, slip stitch in the same single crochet, repeat directions from * around, join with a slip stitch in the joining slip stitch of Round One (right under beginning chain three of Round Two). Fasten off (you now have a total of eight petals).

Round Three: Join white with a slip stitch in the loop directly beneath the back loop of any center double crochet of any petal (you're working your slip stitches behind the tip of each petal), * chain three, slip stitch in the next loop directly beneath the back loop of center double crochet of next petal, repeat instructions from * around, ending with chain three, join with a slip stitch in the same space as first slip stitch (you now have a total of eight chain-three spaces).

Round Four: Slip stitch into the first chain three space, chain three (work two double crochets, chain three, three double crochets) in same chain three space, work three double crochets in next chain three space, work (three double crochets, chain three, three double crochets) in the next chain three space, work three double crochets in the next chain three space, work (three double crochets, chain three, three double crochets) in the next chain three space, work three double crochets in the next chain three space, work (three double crochets, chain three, three double crochets) in the next chain three space, work three double crochets in the last chain three space, join with a slip stitch in the top of the beginning chain three, fasten off (you now have a total of thirty-six double crochets plus four chain-three spaces). Weave in ends.
