Natural Remedies for Eye Bags
Women enjoy applying mascara on their eyes for an attractive appearance. But this appearance can easily be ruined because of dark circles around the eyes. Dark circles make a person look tired and can significantly stand out to the public. Fortunately, there are ways you can get rid of these marks before you leave your household.
The first instant thought that comes to the mind would be that these dark circles are appearing because of the lack of sleep. However, this isn’t always the case. You might be suffering from other health issues such as iron deficiency, allergies, fluid retention and more. If you’re getting enough sleep and you still have dark circles around your eyes, it would be a good idea to contact your doctor.
1) Identify any allergies!
Allergies can be a common reason why dark circles occur under the eyes. Allergies can be easily solved because they only require treatment and prevention. If you’re suffering from hay-fever, it can be treated with prescribed medications. However, if the dark circles are still present, you may have an undetected food allergy. 2) Get plenty of sleep!
Tiredness can be a major cause of dark circles. The only treatment for this is sufficient hours of sleep. Lack of sleep causes the skin to become paler and can increase the appearance of black circles. Healthy hours of sleep can vary between 7-9 hours but depending on your age, you might need to increase the hours. If you’re sleeping as much as 8-9 hours a day and you’re still getting dark circles, try relaxing for another extra few hours every week.
3) Treat your skin!
Apply cool tea bags, ice cubes and cucumber slices to your eyes daily. Tea bags have been shown to reduce swelling and discoloration. Cucumber is also another remedy for puffiness and can refresh the appearance of skin. If you’re willing to treat your skin during the night, apply a damp cloth with cold water and place it over your eyes as you sleep.
4) Use an eye cream with vitamin K and retinol!
The real problem with dark circles may be due to the deficiency of vitamin K and mineral absorption. Research has been done and has shown that skin creams that contain vitamin K and retinol can reduce darker circles significantly. Daily usage can bring out the best results.
5) Eat lots of healthy food!
Plenty of vitamins, a healthy diet and water can all help you attain the vitamins and minerals for better looking eye bags. Adequate amounts of fluid and vegetables such as cabbage and spinach can improve circulation. Though, avoid consuming too much salt or the body starts retaining water from other parts of the body. Too much salt could also damage your circulation and cause blood vessels under the skin to appear blue.
Overall, a better looking face could help you look fresher throughout the day and help you appearance stand out. Always follow a healthy diet and use cucumbers and tea bags for easier treatment.
