Drinking Coffee: Reduce Cancer and Stroke
Isn’t it surprising to learn that something you love to drink or eat in the early hours of the morning can end up being healthy? Did you know that a typical serving of coffee provides more antioxidants than some fruits like blueberries, grape juice, raspberries and oranges? Coffee contains more antioxidants than green tea which is definitely a fact to bear in mind before sipping from a cup.
The benefits of antioxidants include protection from free radicals that are in the body, environment and the diet. Scientists and researchers have studied and believe that coffee is a hidden medicine against many diseases including heart disease, cancer and other health issues.
Remember that coffee can only be as effective if milk is not included in the drink. This is because milk binds with the antioxidants and reduces its effectiveness.
1) Reducing Cancer Risk
A hospital based study showed that those who drink near four and more cups of coffee combined with tea reduce their cancer risks significantly from healthier people who don’t drink at all.
2) Reduce Stroke Risk
A research between coffee drinking and the risks of stroke was undertaken for 24 years in women. Data was analysed from 83,076 women without a history of several health problems including stroke and heart disease. Around 2000 cases of stroke were documented with a 20% risk of stroke falling for those who drank regular cups of coffee. This is when the researchers had concluded that drinking regular cups of coffee can certainly reduce stroke risks.
3) Reduce Colon Cancer, Gallstones and Liver Cirrhosis
More fascinating results have also been discovered. Two or more cups of coffee can reduce the risk of colon cancer by 25% while other problems like developing gallstones can be decreased by 50% and 80% reduction rate for liver cirrhosis.
It can be concluded that although excessive amounts of coffee can do harm, the benefits are still visible and should be noticed when you enjoy your sip of coffee.
