Diatabs capsule is from the family of antipropulsives and is administered for treating acute and chronic diarrhea.
Diatabs capsules are used for Symptomatic management of severe and chronic diarrhea. Diatabs assists in making the stools less watery along with making it firmer. It in addition aids to decreases the frequency of toilet visits.
Diatabs capsule may also be indicated for other ailments, not cited above.
Diatabs dosage and administration
For severe diarrhea in adults
2 Diatabs capsule escorted by a capsule after each amorphous stool. Avoid using for more than 5 days, consult your doctor in case symptoms doesn’t improve.
For taking care of chronic diarrhea
2 Diatabs capsule then regulate quantity till 1 to 2 solid stools per day are achieved. Dosage should not exceed more than 16 mg per day. If symptoms don’t improve after 10 days of continuous use, consult your doctor.
Diatabs capsules can be administered before or after meal.
- Patients suffering from Constipation or other serious GI troubles;
- Pseudomembranous colitis;
- Acute ulcerative colitis;
Inform your doctor if you have suffered from allergic reactions in the past to Diatabs capsule, Loperamide HCl or any additional active ingredient present in the drug.
- Severe dysentery.
- Patients suffering from hepatic disorders;
- Chronic diarrhea with no symptoms of improvement;
- Patients administering anti-infective drugs.
- Special care needs to be observed when using Diatabs during pregnancy and lactation.
- Children more than 12 years of age.
- Avoid alcohol during therapy period.
Diatabs side effects
Past reports of constipation, vomiting, nausea, sleepiness, dizziness, drowsiness and dry mouth have been associated with the use of Diatabs capsule in the past. Consult a doctor in case any such symptoms become chronic and bothersome.
Stop using the drug immediately and consult a doctor in case of any allergic reactions on using Diatabs capsule. Symptoms include heavy chest, problem with breathing, rashes, hives and inflammation.
